Okay so the day is nearly upon myself and Jon, we leave for out trip round Europe this Friday.
We both wanted to do a trip like this a few years ago, but due to my work, we couldn't. Now we are both in the position to be able to do it properly!
We will be taking my Clio 182, mainly because...
Today was my first experience of Formula One, and what an experience too. Loved every second of the day, and already want to do it again next year.
Fantastic, and quite emotional display from the Red Arrows too, always a favourite of mine.
A real shame that there were no Brits on the podium...
Few shots from tonight. Was a good meet, shame about the weather :(

I was out with some friends last night, and one of them informed me that my exhaust is producing a fair few flames out of the back, I have recently decatted it and it has no silencer, so it's basically just a backbox.
I knew it popped/spat on cold, but I didn't know it was flaming. Is this...
Right, two questions:
First up, I applied some Amigo last week, looked great at the time, but I don't think it bonded too well because I couldn't strip my Glasur off!
I used a strong concentration of G101 (always removed previous waxes) but when I came to rinsing, the wax was still present...
Sir Stirling Moss's Ferrari 250 GTO has just sold for the bargain price of $35m.
What recession? ;)

Right, apologies if this is in the wrong place.
I want to strip some paint off some steel. What is the best thing I can buy over the counter?
I don't want to have to jump through 800 hoops to prove I'm not going to drink it, but I want something strong, that wont damage the metal at all.
Is...
Around 6pm last night, both heading towards Brooklands roundabout.
Flashed you in the Arctic, you flashed back.
Only saw the BG at the last second, think it might have been plummer? (sp)
I was in the RB.
Right, someone said to me that the 182's use a different coolant to the usual stuff you can buy from Halfords ect..
Can I just use anything? Or is there a specific type I should use?
After the success that was the first Introduction to Detailing Day, I have been in contact with Phil. He was very very happy with the day and said he really enjoyed it. Thankyou again to everyone who turned up, we all did CS proud what with the awful weather, and the difficulties with the roads...
When I went down to Russ for my enhancement detail the other week, Russ suggested that RB may look better with a good sealant. This was something I hadn't fully considered before.
The car is getting a good clean on Saturday and I want it looking tip-top as always, so my question is:
Which...
As the title really. Was nice weather, although colder than I expected, shorts were an error!

I'm sure this is a common question, and while I have done a number of searches on both here and Google, I cannot seem to find a definitive answer.
I will say upfront that this is at the moment hypothetical, my insurance at the moment is all above board and fine.
I am currently insured at my...
Right, I'm going to be doing some of my interior in Alcantara this bank holiday weekend, I have pretty much sorted everything out, but I am still undecided on what glue to use.
Has anyone got any experience in doing this, or know what glue will be best?
It obviously needs to be smooth when...
As above, I had one indicator out earlier tonight, I swapped the blubs over, still didnt work, had a play with the connector, noticed a tiny blue spark, and all the indicators went off. The radio has lost its code and the foglights dont work. Checked the fuse, all seems okay (provided I'm...
Spotted this heading Southbound on the M5, somewhere just south of Birmingham. The reg plate is registered to a Range Rover rep, so I presume it's the new one.
Please excuse the low quality phone pictures! As soon as I took these he hammered it off and left the motorway, so I presume he didn't...
I have recently started playing with Photoshop and having looked at a lot of videos on YouTube, and doing a lot of experimenting with shots, I was able to create a seemingly convincing shot of my car, as if it were taken while moving, be it from a chase car, or on a rig.
This was the finished...
Okay, guess lying gets you nowhere, it is of course, a Photoshop, but I'm really happy with the results, took about 2.5 hours to do in total :)

Went out the other night with Rhys and Jon taking some photos of the cars, bit of a drive around Manchester saw us stop in Stockport and in Knutsford over the M6 for some light trails.
Crop of the light trail shot that I quite like:

In roughly a months time, the blue arsed fly will be getting a nice paint correction. Of course once it's been done, I want to be getting the best from the paint over the summer months.
Now unfortunately I lack high roller status so I can't go out and buy a tub of Crystal Rock just like that...
I went down to Shinearama in Altrincham yesterday to get a few bits and bobs that I needed, as always I got chatting to Paul and the subject came up of doing open days for car clubs.
Basically Paul has agreed to do an open day at his workshop, covering the basics of detailing. I've been to one...
I did a quick search but all I could find was a rotation question regarding track-day tyres.
More of a general wondering than something I need/want to do, but tyre rotation on a FWD car, good or bad idea?
I was having a quick check of tyre tread depth today, and I have about 3-4mm across the...
Right,
My girlfriend is looking for a laptop for Uni. She needs it mainly for notes/writing up reports things like that, so it needs office (I appreciate she may need to buy a laptop and MS Office Student separately)
We are looking to avoid the "netbook" crap, it needs to last her so a proper...
Right, I am ordering some more bits and bobs as I will be doing a full detail in a couple of weeks, plus I'm doing my mates car this weekend.
I have most of what I need, but my question is about Iron-x. Basically do I need it for the paint or can I use Wolfs Deironizer? They appear to do the...
Also a race suit of his sold for £34,000!
