Cheers guys, I've been toying with the idea of having some Titanium springs custom made a few of the top end Hillclimb Saloon cars run them and says it's a noticeable difference.
My AST's currently have 5" length springs fitted which seem pretty short, is there any advantage to having them this...
Can anyone confirm the ID for AST 5100 rear springs?
I've measured them at 52mm but been as that's not a standard size I presume they are 2"
They are 5" long and a pretty common off the shelf size is 5" free length with a 2" ID.

When I got my Billet Flywheel I was amazed how light it was I thought this is going to make so much difference until I took the standard one out and realized how light and OEM one is lol

Yes I have to agree the 13's have a lot less tread (cut grooves) that 15's and I have to admit that I only used them in Hillclimb competition so I ran them in the A24 compound (mega soft) so might not directly translate to a good circuit tyre.

It really isn't worth trying to rebuild a damaged F4R if it's standard, just speak to one of the breakers (i.e.Tim Finch) and get one delivered on a pallet probably around the £300 mark.

Just about to change over to EPAS just making sure I'm ordering the right bits, so I need;
1 x DCi Upper Steering column with ECU (Will a 1.2 do too or does it have to be the DCi one)
(DCi)...
I run 197 Brembos and RC8's up front and RC6's in the rear it pulls up bloody sharpish, I've still got the ABS just stand on the middle pedal like your life depends on it and everything is fine.
Don't get me started on people that say R888's/AD08's/V700's/VR2's etc etc are terrible in the rain...
Totally Road Legal, Taxed, Tested and MOT'd it has to be for the Road Going Production Regs although I rarely drive it on the road.
I take it to and from events on a trailer towed behind my Motorhome.

That's why I spin the life out of them before a run and why you need to run the softest compound possible.
The proper race boys running on slicks use Avon's in A15 & A92 compound push your thumb into them and it'll leave a prefect mark of your thumb print.

Hillclimbs, I do the Midland Hillclimb Championship and the Leaders and the odd Curborough (Mainly for testing as it's just up the road and cheap)

The R5's are brilliant wouldn't swap them for the world I'd say they are on a pair with the Avon ZZR A24 compound.
It's not terminal understeer but I'm not getting the rear to rotate as much as I'd like plus I need to up the front poundage to reduce some of the roll (ideally I do this with the...

I have to say I've been very impressed with Gaz Golds I have fitted on my Ph1, the only downside is the rears just aren't up to damping high poundage rear springs (650lb upwards) the valving has been set to highest setting and even at full damping adjustment they still bounce on the spring to a...
Here's a purely electric powered heater and fan combo, I haven't used it myself but my mate has got one fitted in his EVO V and is quite impressed.

Totally agree with the above I ordered a Ph1 engine off Tim Finch and it turned up the next day on a pallet for £250 all in.
Standard engines just aren't worth saving, if you're half competent mechanic you'll swap it out and be running again in a day.

I run RC8's in my 197 Brembos on my Ph1 172 still running the ABS and they are awesome.
I was going to remove the ABS until I spoke to a rather clever engineer at JWR and he said if you're running ABS and savage pads you need to press the brake pedal a lot harder than you think.
So I went and...
Absolutely love the PMS Shifter, mine is fitted into my Hillclimb car so noise and vibration aren't an issue.
Love the fact you can bang it into 1st and it selects no worries which is handy went it comes to some really tight hairpins (see below)

Cheers mate, I'd already moved the battery right infront of the Passenger seat to save weight (Oddesey in there now) and to move the weight into a better position, so I got hold a V6 box maily to make use of the better airflow.
It made 178bhp at the fly wheel in March when I had the Ph1 box...
