I decided to get back on a bike!
Few mates have done their tests now so will have some riding buddies, so spotted this last night and picked it up tonight.
Absolutely love it, missed having a bike!
The noise is mental, has an actuator valve linked to the throttle so it's pretty good for morning...
I know the standard answer will be 'ring your insurer' but they aren't open now!
I've got 4/5 chips in my windscreen after the last couple of days, so wanting to get them filled in, do I just call AutoGlass and that's it?
What happens with insurance, do they do it all? Is it really free, or...
Not had chance to clean the FRS since before Christmas and even though it's done very few miles it was absolutely caked in shite.
Nothing special but did use the 3 bucket method as only one to rinse in was never enough as shown from my pic below!
Such a shame I've lost the love and it's not as...
Woke up on a day off today and saw a bit of sunshine and thought I'd take the Boxster on the first proper drive since buying it late last year, so planned to head to Snakes Pass in the Peaks via a decent little run through some nice back roads. ended up clocking 143 miles exactly and found some...
Trying to make a couple of CD's for the car, but for some reason iTunes is having a fit at the discs I've bought. Want to try it through Win Media Player but I can't get Windows through Parallels to realise there is a disc present.
When I put my USB in it asks me which I want to open it with...
So I'm running a few quotes for insurance and it still doesn't add up!
At 25 with no NCB the Focus RS is only £140 more expensive than if I have 7NCB.
And a 1.8T A4 estate worth £3k is more to insure than a £20k focus RS. All other details are the same.
Tempted to get a set of these for the Porsche just in case, but how do they work?!
How are they fitted and do they disintegrate after a bit of driving?
Had the car a full week now so thought I'd stick a couple of pics up and a bit of a review of the car and future plans.
It's done 90k, 2 owners, full Porsche and Specialist history, has only ever been to 2 garages!
It's very tidy all round, few stone chips on the front end but the rest is in...
I have a late 2011 Macbook Pro, just clicked on the battery monitor and it's telling me to 'service battery'?!
What's the score with this? Has seemed a little worse the last few days but nothing too shocking. Coconut battery says:
77% capacity, but does fluctuate a little, as high as 93% 3...
So with having some problems with the Focus and not being happy with it, it will be going back to the c**ting garage I bought it from, hopefully sooner rather than later.
When I bought the Focus I cleared the garage out for it, and ever since it was playing on my ind a little that I could have a...
Gave the RS it's first clean today since the rain was holding off a little.
Decided to give the XJS a bit of a run out since it looked like it was going to stay dry, but within minutes of it being out the garage the heavens opened, so it returned back to the garage for another day!
Focus now...
So I had a bit more of a play with the car this afternoon and sorted a few bits out. All in it's an amazing car!
I love the attention it gets too, had 3 people in the petrol station tell me how good it looks which is always nice.
It seems better on fuel than the M3 by a good way, and it...
I've been using GoCompare for a few rough insurance quotes come renewal time on various cars I've been looking at, and each time I get a quote for ANYTHING there is a company called MayFairOnline that quote £477.00 every time!
So going from a 182, FRS, Evo8, R34 GTR, 996 turbo, C63 AMG, RS4...
Had a car cleaning spree today and rolled the Jag out as it was a bit dusty. Cleaned all the inside, treated the leather, gave the outside a whip over and polished the glass inside and out, this made a big difference as the glass was covered in marks!
Goes in for service Wednesday morning so...
Had an all day bender yesterday and woke up at 7am so decided best way to get rid of the headache was some fresh air. Had all the wheels off, cleaned the arches, painted the calipers a fresh black, then just gave the whole car a once over.
Nice to have a shiny car again!
Now on 111500...
Here she is. My dad bought the car new in 1989, and it has been in the garage ever since!
As some may know he died last month so I have been taking on the epic mission of starting to clear our barn and outbuildings of all the crap and working out what we still need. The garage was on the list...
I've bought the upgrade Parallels 8 for my MacBook but a little put off about possibly losing all my current data as it says it wants to remove the version I'm using at the minute. Is this likely to be something to worry about?!
With a normal mouse and roller wheel you can click and hold the wheel and pan around the screen ( I use AutoCAD a lot ), is there a way to do this with the magic mouse? It's superior in every way apart from that option that I cannot work out how to do!
Can anyone help please. My mums iphone has somehow zoomed into the screen and now can't be used. Can't put in the lock code even...see pic!
Have tried to connect to my itunes to try to restore but wont let me without putting in the lock code!
Have done a reset on the phone by holding the top...
Gave the M3 a good going over this afternoon after buying a few new products. Spent a few hours but got rid of all the tar spots which was the main target. IronX'd it too, amazing product!
A few after pics:
Ticked over to 107k this week as well, looks well for it!
So today I put my 18's back on the M3 after being powder coated..
I got them collected for me so never saw them until they were at the tyre fitters, wasn't too happy/sure but thought I might change my mind once they were on so got the tyres fitted and stuck them on after work.
They're not...
Decided since the nicer weather is coming back and I'm making a few changes to the car that I had better get round to giving it a proper clean.
Planning on the following method buying a few new bits and using what I have on the shelf.
Wet and wash (autoglym shampoo)
Autoglym tar remover
IronX...
Woke up at 5am this morning and couldn't settle again so thought I'd go for a quick run out before work since it was nice and fresh.Had a nice play, not been out just for a drive in a while so was good to play with all the revs and the traction control off on some quiet country roads.
Took a...
Had to go rescue my sister tonight (no pics) as her car was playing up. Was stuttering on her then cut out, then would start briefly but then just die.
I did the dashboard fault check and got 't' which translates to 'an injection fault has been detected for a minimum of 4 seconds'
I reset this...
Had my Macbook for about 10 months now, gets the same use day in day out, but recently it's been running very hot, to the point halfway through working I've been leaving it alone to cool down and compose itself!
Also noticed the battery is taking 10 times longer to recharge.
Anything common in...
I've been using Thunderbird as my email program for a while now but I'm transferring over to Outlook.
It's up and running and works fine etc, but need a bit of help.
On thunderbird I have a lot of emails in 'local' folders to free up inbox space, how can I copy these across into outlook? Is the...
I've got a 2012 13" pro laptop....really want a thunderbolt display for my desk at work but can't justify the £900 it costs, is there a way I can buy a cheaper monitor to use? Is there a way to connect it etc??
Mate came round earlier for a hangover cure winter wash.
Was horrible and didn't get rid of the headache!
Love that little car, looks and sounds awesome, and in awesome condition for 27 years!
