Ok so, after quite a struggle last night, we finally got the gearbox out and found the issue. Before we took it out we could see metal shavings throughout the engine bay around about the flywheel area, however we didn't quite expect to be greeted by the full bellhousing being coated in them! It...
Well the box is out and it doesn't look good 😂
(Yes, that is all metal shavings in the bell housing lol)
I'll do a proper update in the morning when I've had some sleep!
I hate clios.
Something clutch related decided it didn't like being in the bellhousing anymore. Lots of metal shavings and lots of noise. Car still has drive so the clutch itself isn't broken but something's certainly spinning around in there!
Further inspection tomorrow night when I get the...
Pre-ordered the ultimate edition the other week, mainly because I know I'll buy the car packs etc so the extra for the season pass is worth it, but also for the early access you get.
Just realised I'm on holiday and come home the day before the normal release date FFS! At least there's a demo...
Got a couple of jobs done on this so far. Changed the leaky front shock and dodgy wishbone/ball joint on the n/s last weekend. The car no longer tries to kill you every time you enter a right hand bend! As you can see here... it was a just a liiiiitle bit past it's best...
So yeah... think...
Cheers, interesting about the machine polishing afterwards, I wasn't aware of that! It's being applied professionally to a friend's car, so was just curious to see if it was all it's cracked up to be really.
Throughout the week I plan on sorting out the whole nearside front suspension and driveshaft issues. As it stands the car just goes wherever it wants on right-hand bends and also probably has zero gearbox oil remaining as the N/S inner CV boot is completely split!
Does anyone know where's...
Not sure mate, was a friend of a friend who was selling it and I found out that way. Sounds about right though!
Edit: I got it for less than it was up for lol so with the trendlines it was a bit of a bargain! Even with a few things needing done to it
As some of you may have seen from my other project thread, I picked myself up a fairly cheap Arctic blue 182 on Friday!
It's pretty much standard apart from a milltek backbox with custom decat/centre section, Apex lowering springs and Trophy Recaros. It also appears to have a very strong...
May have impulse bought this yesterday...
Took it on as another little project to just clean up and have as a decent fun road car alongside the ph1. Has recaros, a very strong engine, and was cheap so couldn't say no! Will stick a thread up for it at some point.
Don't be so sensible!
I can't be arsed getting it ready for the possibility of doing maybe one track day in it this year in truth. Not got a free weekend between now and October so by the time I actually got it sorted and MOT'd, there'll be barely any track days available!
And here we see a typical CS track car in its natural habitat. A garage. On axle stands...
Tucked in way up the back, out the way!
So yeah, that's it in its new resting place in the new unit for now. Much bigger than the last place I was in. Plenty room to get it stripped down and do...
I thought they would've went to 3500mah with the battery given its a bigger phone and they probably had the capacity to do so. Would've made for probably the best battery life out there just now and seems a wasted opportunity. CPU is also the same as the S8/S8+ as far as I can see.
The camera...
Just had a look at the Note 8 there. Nice looking phone but as far as I can see it's just a bigger squarer S8+ with dual camera, S pen and a smaller battery?
It's worth noting mate that Google drive won't actually reduce the file size on 99% of phone photos. The photos are only reduced if they're above 16MP. Videos above 1080p. So unless you're taking photos with a proper camera or 4K video or anything you're as well just using that option for photo...
6 month thread revival! Saw the light of day at the weekend for the first time in almost a year!
Nothing exciting mind you, just moved it to a new unit closer to home. I might actually make some progress on it now 😂
I love Bilt Hamber Auto Foam as far as cleaning power goes. It doesn't cling massively well and I've found if it's warm and sunny it can dry in easily because it doesn't foam as much as some others out there, but it's one of the best snowfoams I've had for cleaning power. And it's only about...
Fire it up on axle stands and no one will be stealing it in a hurry lol.
Jokes aside, could do with info on this myself. I've currently got my Clio fully insured while it's completely off the road which is major false economy!
IIRC though last I asked about zero miles/laid up policies with...
My car won't be making it now so my space on the morning track session is up for grabs if anyone is interested? Just after face value to hopefully get my money back.
Has anyone got any proper experience with Gtechniq Crystal Serum and seen it's protection abilities, durability etc first hand? The approved detailer only stuff I mean, not the Crystal Serum 'Light'
I hadn't really considered an external hard drive, but you're correct, I have stuff on my HDD in my PC and that's it. RAID seemed appealing just because it sounds less hassle than backing everything up every couple of weeks or month or that.
I guess an actual backup never really crossed my mind...
Hi all,
I'm wanting to get another HDD and set up some sort of Raid arrangement on my PC as I'm starting to build up a lot of photos and videos I wouldn't want to lose if anything every went wrong.
My current setup is:
Windows + Programs on an SSD (this will stay as it is),
All documents...
Gave my steering wheel a going over with CarPro Inside at the weekend. Highly recommended. Leather came up lovely!
Didn't realise how dirty it was until I'd cleaned half of it
Didn't realise there was such a difference in price. Have you not got a local rep you could try and get some prices from? Might find they're better than on eBay
