And I'm just a wuss and have access to 2 poster ramps, or the mobile mechanical arm ramp if I ever have to wash the Underneith of the car off outside :p
Used to love working on mine on the road, until a Freind got hit by some muppet
Re: DCI 65 pov spec commuter OEM+
Managed to sort one mate. Cheers tho. Keep it spare, never know when you might need one. Like I found out :(
Im just going to run 20mm spacers for now and then get Hubs/shocks bones/ role bar and shafts when I next have it all apart.
Now I need a no AC DCI...
Re: DCI 65 pov spec commuter OEM+
think the very early dci's ran a single hole cat.
later must of been figure of 8. probs a design flaw due to the wastegate ....
lol at the thread going off topic :o sorry mate
I'm needs cleaning and lube aswell. Did one on a cup this week. Was bone dry and locked shut. Managed to get the bonnet open, unbolted the catch from the slam panel. Paint thinners to clean the crap off and then grease up to feck.

Re: DCI 65 pov spec commuter OEM+
if i have to. ( when the time comes ) i'll see if i can get my exhuast custom place to do a limited run of de cat pipes for a group buy. ( saying that, think the 65 turbo runs a slightly different turbo housing to the 80 ) as the 65 cat is just a hole for the...
Re: DCI 65 pov spec commuter OEM+
wheres the four mount holes on the gearbox? my new frame has a hole for the stud on the bracket but i cant see any threaded holes on the jc5 box....
Re: DCI 65 pov spec commuter OEM+
i had a de cat pipe made to look like a standard cat but 2.5 inch pipe inside with a better swan neck from the flange off the turbo. and had a threaded hole put on it for an EGT probe ( mapping purposes )
we will get away with it anyhow. its in the most...
Re: DCI 65 pov spec commuter OEM+
you all need a proper de cat pipe like me ;) sounds like a subaru on full throttle. hopefully when ive put the new rear quarter on mine, i will hve time to visit fred to get the rest of my exhuast measured for a full 2.5'' all the way back.
....and your point is? he can do it, its not rocket sience to time one up.
the lack of know how on these engines suprises me every time. not even dealerships get it right 99% of the time.
(btw BMW have a very similar system on a few of their engines ;) )
its all well and good that he's a well known BMW mechanic but time these up wrong and its either game over/ lack of power leading to failure/all good and proper.
correct locking tools needed ( not the shite laser copies that bend )
I would paint the subframe with halfords truck bed spray! Looks like black crackle paint. Takes a hammering and piss easy to clean.
Actaully going to do my sills and wheel arches with it before I put everything back on.
Why halfords ? Half of the staff can't even put a bulb in a headlight without making it a massive job lol
track rod end £7-10
spring second hand £30-40 a set.
Garage cost probs and hour plus tracking( if it needs it )
You will get it done for half that I bet!
