I always park furthest away from the shop to avoid this , and try and look for a space that no one can park next to. You still get people parking next to you though :/
No it's not. Rev limit is the same 7250 in all gears. It is only 6500 when the oil is still cold. Even if the water temp is at the normal level, the oil isn't for a little longer. It gives it's self the lower rev limit to protect it a little. Same as civic type r's won't engage v-tec when cold.
I wouldn't pay a penny. If you buy a car from a dealer, it should be in working order, unless described otherwise. I'd go down there, tell them you don't want it anymore due to the hassle and time wasting and buy another car elsewhere.
What's the point. It's not going to make any difference to performance unless you map it, even then the differences will be minimal, yet it'll fail it's mot, and you'll have a eml light on at all times. Get a decent exhaust system IMO
Past 3-4 weeks driving about, not on an economy run, and driving Southampton to Portsmouth 4 days a week at about 75
650 miles in total and got 37.5mpg
Sorry to resurrect this, I'm trying to replace both lambda sensors on my 182, but noticed they have different part numbers. Are they interchangeable or do I need to know which one goes where? Cheers, Mark
Hi,
I picked up my clio 182 a couple of days ago, I've noticed there is alot of play in the lever when in 3rd, and 5th, and a small amount in 1st. It also crunches slightly when changing quickly into 3rd.
Could this be the linkage causing a vague shift and getting caught between gears or would...
Love this car, really would like a 147 GTA, but I couldn't live with the economy while I'm still at Uni, so 182 will have to do for now :). Interesting that you were only 0.1 off the mk2 RS, I think they are really over hyped, they don't impress me at all lol
Oddly a friend of a friend killed a cow on one only the other week in his Fabia VRS. Was doing over 100, but hardly damaged the car, bonnet, wing, light, bumper, no chassis damage, lucky for him, not the cow.
Looks really nice! People will say about the suspension, as it's what makes the trophy different to a normal 182, so removing it makes it a normal 182 really. So it's effectively the only red 182 imo lol. Looks smart though :).
Seriously, it's not a powerful car. It's a hot hatch, think you need to get back down to earth.
Times do change, you say cars get safer, I say they get heavier, more numb and more boring.
Abs is not crucial in daily driving, just don't freeze on the pedals and you'll be fine.
It's not a powerful car really though is it. 170 bhp isn't mega power, people coped before abs was invented and had more power than that, people should cope now.
I have had my cup a year and a half, lack of abs has only effected me twice, both times was when the weight came off one front wheel...
Why is no abs stupid? It's only a Clio, not a Ferrari, just don't drive like a tool. Tvr's don't come with abs, they cope and have more than double the bhp. I agree air con is nice, as is leather but it's really not essential.
You should get a great cup for £2500. There are a few on ph for that money that look mint.
I've owned mine a year, only had 3 occasions where abs would have helped at all tbh. It's only useful when one front wheel loses traction under braking but the other doesn't. No abs means one wheel locks...
Sorry to hear about this. Scum don't realise the personal attachment people have to a car, and how hard it is to replace an older car with one in similar condition :(
No offence, but maybe you can't afford one just yet? The ones your linking are just sheds, your going to have to pour money into them. What's the point? Save up some cash and get a decent one IMO
Like they said, have a search. But in brief.
No, most 172's aren't cups. Normal 172 has half leather, auto wipers and headlights, xenons, climate, a/c and split fold rear seats, cups don't have any of that, along with no abs on traction control and bench rear seat so are lighter, they have...
