I had exactly the same problem on my 182, had cambelt and auxbelt changed and the noise was gone. I don't know what part was causing it but it sounds like it is definitely aux belt related.

I must admit the clio makes me drive more like a tit than my last cars. The GF has commented many times that I hold the revs longer than in the Cupra R...guess the reason being that the clio is gutless at anything under 5K. Don't do it intentionally, I guess I've just adapted to the engine.

Does your head unit have pre-amp out? If yes, just plug it in and get a line to the battery. Depends what sub you get, active or passive, as to whether you need other things. If you have standard head unit, buy an attentuator (£12 from halfrauds), wire into speakers. Continue as above. Easy.
