Yeah fair enough mate, I know the feeling hence the 9th being my first opportunity to get to knockhill this year.
I've just put AVO coilovers on mine so interested to see how they go. I wanted to mimic the AST track spring rates but was advised towards a relatively soft setup instead by Nick at...
Have you checked that the ABS rings are present on the rear? If the previous owner has disconnected the sensors it's quite possible they've gone for cheap plain discs without the rings fitted as they won't have needed them. Unlikely but possible if your issue persists.
Fronts are easy to find...
It seems like the abs has been removed in a pikey way. Mine just popped the abs fuse the other day and that put the lights on and killed the speedo as it's also read from the abs sensors. This puts the brake bias at 50/50 hence you feeling the rears lock.
Check that the fuse is intact for a start.
Are you sure it's not retracting? I've just done mine and it feels like you're turning it for about 6 weeks before the face of the piston is level with the dust seal
You only 'need' good brake pads and fluid, and suspension that's in good nick.
If you don't use the car for anything else then you may as well strip it of all excess weight (costs £0)
So I take it in all cases that you run the 'new' cables back to the junction box in the engine bay to connect them to the 'old' positive and negative?
I wasn't sure if you would use the original negative or whether you would just run a new 'local' earth?
Hope that makes sense.
Thinking of getting a lightweight battery and relocating it out of the engine bay.
Can anyone provide an idiots guide of everything I'll need and how it's done? Is it best to relocate to the boot or under/behind the seats?
Thanks in advance
I think the meganes are massively overrated. I bought an R26 last year but thankfully I kept my Clio as well. Needless to say the megane has gone and the Clio is becoming a more focused track car.
They're bigger and look a bit more respectable but that's where the positives ended for me.
Would be a full day for me, too far to come for a half day. The track nights would be good if I wasn't over 2 hours away, I'd spend more time traveling to and from than on track!
