If we're talking XBox, get a 1TB XBox One S (white) model for about £100 used, that will do what you need.
The 'OG' XBox One is the same sort of money second hand, but the S is newer, smaller, quieter, does 4K (not for games), etc.
Agreed, my PC, XBox, etc, have always hardwired, but the TV never needed it, until now...
It can happily stream 4K TV & films, gaming is a lot more demanding though.
So, turns out my LG OLED TV can now download the Stadia app and play games on the TV directly, cunning.
Tried it over the weekend, it was unplayable, just juddering sound & image, so was not impressed. (n)
Worked out how to drop the quality, as I thought 1080p might be better, it wasn't and...
Got a 205 Rallye last night, awesome!
For anyone that played FH4, the online adventure thing seems to have gone, where you could queue up a few races as a road trip with friends in your convoy, now it just seems that you drive to a race on the map, start it and your convoy gets an...
I had a 1TB Toshiba Canvio basics on my OG XBox one for years, very reliable.
There's an official 1TB Seagate expansion card for the Series X/S models, which is expensive, but you can still use an external USB3 HDD for games.
No other option on the Series S, there's no optical drive! ;)
I'd also invest in an external USB HDD for more games storage, as you'll soon fill the internal 512gb HDD, there's actually only 364GB of useable space and Forza Horizon 5 is 109GB alone for example.
It does (y)
There is also a console only version of Gamepass for £7.99 a month rather than ultimate at £10.99 a month, which also includes PC games & cloud gaming, so if you don't need them get the cheaper one.
Played a bit of San Andreas last night on XBox, everything is very dark and the sound (speech) is weird, don't think it likes Windows Sonic with headphones.
Not played enough to form an opinion yet, but had forgotten that Samuel L Jackson was the cop at the beginning.
Got San Andreas downloaded on Gamepass ready for tomorrow!
I still remember buying this on launch day and upgrading to a new 'slim' PS2 at the same time, a staggering 17 years ago! 😲
Sort of agree, like the old Gran Turismo days starting with something sh1t like a Mazda Demio A-Spec and having to grind for ages to afford upgrades and new cars. God I spent many many hours on those games and thoroughly enjoyed it.
But then today's youth who want it all on a plate and they...
Agreed, massive library at your fingertips and some good titles too, not just a load of crap, definitely worth it and if you don't want the PC or cloud gaming elements, the console only plan is just £7.99 a month, bargain!
