bit off topic, but anyone who has an evol one fitted, did yours come with different inner sleeves? mine came with 2 sets of plastic and 1 set of metal, currently got the plastic ones in but wondering what the metal ones are like before i try them
what sort of noise is it making when you drive mate? whirring or other?
Theres not really any indication when the gearbox will let go, mine went bang about a month ago and drove spot on up until that point, no noises either.
I'd definatly source a gearbox yourself as it will probably save you...
Been a while but thought i'd update this thread, not much has changed on the car but I'll share anyway
First off, I did Cadwell with @dann2707 in january, cant remember the date but it was abit last minute, I booked on at about 2am the same day as I was working that night so I didn't...
Dont think the clio really needs a lower final drive unless your racing it, when mine had a kangoo box fitted with longer gearing/final drive (i dont know the figures to compare) it was noticeably faster than most other 172/182's because i was able to hang onto gears for longer, seemed much...
Try ebc yellows, george at RTR can get them cheap and they work well for the money, lack abit of feel when cold but still useable on the road no problem
you need to measure up the diameter then phone renault for a replacement, i think there is a couple of different sizes.
its easy enough to change but you will have to drain the gearbox first and need a pair of circlip pliers to take off the tri pod bearing thing on the end of the shaft
thats not a ph1 mount, the ph1 has a really short one with the bushes the same way and a metal bracket bolted to the gearbox, it looks like a cheap replacement ph2 mount
How would it be wasting their time? They get paid to deal with crime and what happend to the guys car is a crime.
They probably will do f**k all about it but atleast its abit more paperwork for them to do. I'd definatly report it and maybe on the off chance they might go round and have a word...
Not sure if this is in the right section but thought i'd share anyway for a laugh.
Wish it was so cheap to increase the horse thickness of my 172 by 15%

Loads of daft rules regarding towing so read it carefully, if you dont have b+e on your licence you can only tow up to 750kg... you can tow more than that aslong as the train weight doesn't exeed 3.5t
E.g if I was in a 3.5t transit and it was fully loaded I could tow 750kg so train weight would...
