I saw so many good reviews of amigo I bought a bottle rears ago now, and sold it on shortly after
Left a lovely slick finish, but didn't think it cleansed or filled very well, didn't really do an aweful lot by hand or DA.
In a general detail what do you use it for, what product does it replace?
Surfex HD and valet pro prepare will go a good way to diminish or remove previous protection. As will decontaminating with tar and iron removers like tarX and korrosol. Following up with a clay mitt and only a coating will survive that
Have you used carpro essence yet Kev? I've just got a small bottle to play with but still a little unsure of technique to get the best out of it.
Will have a few weeks off shortly so planning on trialling it on heavily swirled gloss black VW paint
Ooh that looks handsome. I do miss that colour.
@MagpieV6 any recommendations on pad choice and method for using the carpro essence? Plan on getting it shortly
Only had it a few months, had an SV650s for quite a few years before that but fancied something a bit easier to live with. What monster have you got? Almost bought my dads 2010 monster 796 but he decided to keep it
@RyG what you planning on getting
If the weather does turn nice I might ask the...
Costco ones as said are actually a pretty good quality and would happily use them for any job.
The ebay ones are awful, likely to blow away in the wind.
@RyG thanks for the heads up. A local one for me, if the weathers dry would be a good excuse to take the street triple out for a spin
But realistically chances of it are slim. Baby #2 is due on the 26th so I'm on a tight chain
Rapid dirt shifter can't be found as cheap as it once was. Off the shelf pre wash prices you're better off ordering online.
Carpro iron x or bilt hamber korrosol are still highly rated. If you're mainly looking to use it as a wheel cleaner iron x and korrosol is still just as good, or bilt...
Again I think it may be the rapid dirt shifter but can never get a confirmation. Never went for it due to if it not being RDS it's a lot of product I'm not likely to use.
But I don't use RDS anymore due to a couple of experiences where waxes died off earlier than expected and couldn't workout why
A friend has. It was our understanding it's a trade version of demon shine demon snow foam. It's not the strongest of cleaners, bit foams well and cleans as well as the majority of snow foams on a protected car. Can also be used as a shampoo
Yeah as above condensation and moisture is the biggest problems. Ideally get it waxed before 1pm when the temperatures start to drop. It's about the only time waxing in sunlight is advised
A few reasons. One is wipers are passed it or need cleaning. The other is that the residue hasn't been fully removed. Using IPA on G5 is likely to partially remove it as it's not a semi permanent coating like G1. Presume you've washed the car since application and no difference try using an IPA...
Off the shelf, meguiars gold class and ulimate wash and wax aren't bad, I've not used the NXT version.
online, eurocarparts are selling sonax red shampoo very cheap ad works well...
My father inlaw didn't attach the ends properly and used it. Then spent hours trying to pull back out the inner as it had retracting inside the outer cover. Been fine since. Never known anyone use it with a pressure washer but provided it holds enough pressure within it it'll stay expanded
Online or in store? In halfords look at the G3 waffle applicators. White is quite firm and good for cutting and polishing. Black is nice and soft for finishing or waxing. Or use the meguiars yellow foam applicators, offers less cut when used with ultimate compound.
Online look at the tri foam...
AF avalanche has alsways worked well for me, As has valet pro advanced nuetral snow foam on well maintained and protected cars.
If you're looking for something more aggressive powermaxed TFR is cheap and works well. Suitably diluted I've not seen it diminish wax and sealants any more quickly.
Meguiars bottles as they're all names, with the grey chemical resistant spray heads

And they do last with tar remover and strong wheel cleaners
Gtechniq g1 if you're wanting proper long term results and are willing to put the time and effort in. If you're wanting short term results powermaxed rain off is the easiest to apply
Amigo is one of a few products I just didn't rate, didn't think it added anything to the finish and no sign of any real filling ability by hand or machine.
Autofinesse tripple and britemax blackmax fill better leaving a good base for waxing over. Wax and sealant there's far too many variables...
Any all purpose cleaner (APC) diluted will work. Or when halfords are doing an offer the carplan interior valet cans with plastic brush fixed to the lids works really well. I did the interior of my golf as the dogs, kid and wife's horsey stuff and done a great job of leaving their smells.
Haven't artdeshine been trialling something similar sounding, not actually looking at carpro essence, for a while with blue lotion? Still yet to be released as well. Also there's the wolfs chemicals products with their 2 glazes
And I'm pretty sure TAC systems sell one but can't find it now
I'm a bit out of date over the past couple of months
Britemax blackmax and rubbermax (blackmax via rotary and vantage wax is a great combo!)
Waxaddict quartz wax, Fo'show QD / spray wax, shampoo
Slickrims suds wheel cleaner, slick tyre feeder
Migliore strata coating
bulk buy of foam, MF and...
I'll be honest and say I can't really see where it really fits in, maybe on a car that has the minimalist dirt on and a snow foam and pressure rinse is all that is needed.
