Oh 🙈! The original steering wheel cruise control switches have a 274ohm resistor. I suggested the 300ohm in case you were worried that your 270 wouldn't be fit for purpose. But you solved it anyhow!
Did you make the button setup yourself? It's nice...
There was always going to be a few Minis on this thread......
Mini 1000HL
998cc, 39BHP
Colour Applejack with black vinyl roof, sunroof and 10" Revolution alloys .
Are you replacing the stock steering wheel cruise buttons for an aftermarket wheel? You may know already......but I've read you need:
Cruise off: 0 ohms
Resume: 900 - 910 ohms
+ speed: 274 - 300 ohms
- speed: 100 ohms
So you could get a 300ohm if you wanted to be safe
I'm thinking of retrofitting cruise on a 172 with an aftermarket steering wheel. Does anyone know if I can I pick up the appropriate steering wheel connections from the loom behind the squib so I don't have to change the squib to a cruise one?
Thanks :grinning:!
Hey @Gandi69, you’ll see from this thread (https://www.cliosport.net/threads/refitting-driveshaft-advice-please.816538/) that I also ordered J&R shafts and got 2x 44 tooth ABS rings. I needed the narrow one so am left with a spare wider one. Let me know if you want it, it’s of no use to me!
I think a cruise compatible squib is required and steering wheel buttons, and a replacement esp/dimmer panel with a switch for the cruise/limiter.
I ‘shorted’ the wires in the plug behind the panel to get the cruise and limiter symbols to illuminate on the dash, and with ‘SET’ showing in the...
Behind this panel on my 2003 172, there are 2 unused plugs, one is for cruise/limiter switch, but I can’t find any info on the other?
I’ve been thinking of retrofitting cruise, but came across this additional plug whilst messing about. In the pic the white one on the left is cruise/limiter...
I figured the saw would give me better access. And I scare myself using an angle grinder :grinning:.
Thanks for all the help and suggestions, much appreciated .
Tidy, thanks for the prompt responses!
It’s not been difficult so far, but I do tend to fuss and take things easy.
Cleaning up the old grease that’s been sh@t everywhere from the old leaky boot is a bit of a palaver, and it’s started raining now too 😢😂.
Could I ask a couple of questions before refitting my o/s J&R driveshaft?
Firstly, do they look similar enough :grimacing:?
It comes with 2 ABS rings, but they seem to have the same number of teeth, does it matter which I use? The wider one in the picture seems to have smaller gaps between...
Mine creaked in my 172, so I peeled back the covers starting at the rear back to have a nosey. There were 1 or 2 fixings that bolted the side bolster to the seat back which had come loose. Tightened them up and all was good. It was fiddly only because the covers didn’t come away completely...
An extension bar for your impact gun that limits the amount of torque at the nut. They come in various torque settings. Not accurate like a torque wrench, but I thought might be useful in some circumstances.
Anybody opted for torque sticks for use with their guns? Limited use I would have thought, but might be quick and handy for not over tightening wheels bolts......:innocent:.
As soon as mine arrived I nipped straight over to the garage and undid the hubnuts . I was worried at first, it didn’t seem like it was doing the job, but a few moments later the nuts were off .
I use regular sockets. I bought this Lidl socket set a couple of years ago, it has been...
Well I got one of these as recommended by @Budgie (thanks for the tip) - https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/HEAVY-DUTY-24V-1-2-DRIVE-CORDLESS-IMPACT-WRENCH-RATCHET-2-BATTERIES/222408523829 - and it’s a winner! The hubnuts were a piece of p1$$ :tonguewink: (I couldn’t undo them with a breaker bar btw).
I...
For sure the SERV light is on (with no other lights) when the rain sensor is unplugged. I know because I unplugged mine before having a screen fitted .
It might just need a jiggle of the connector?
