As far as I am aware my 182 engine has spun a big end shell. Getting a new engine put in next week so all good.
I have decided to keep the old engine and rebuild it as a spare (Might make a forged build), Getting to the point as far as the crank is concerned is it worth buying a new one or...
After having a little but if engine trouble I thinking about rebuilding the top end. I decided to go for some high lift cams. The 2 main ones I have been looking at are as above, It's not massive power gains that I'm after more about better drivability. One thing I don't want is a dodgy idle...
May have been covered before but I couldn't find an exact answer.
From what I have worked out they use the same block just have different inlets? So if I had a 736 engine it would go in a 182 if I used all my original parts off the old 738? Is that correct.
Just you see just the block...
After my 182 engine decided to spit out its bottom end I thought as the engine out I would fit a new clutch. Correct me if I am wrong but the OE clutch is about £130. all i wanted to know would it be best to use a Renault genuine clutch or go for an uprated one.
I seen this one on Prima Racing...
Driving around then suddenly stop light and battery light illuminated then went out and as i slowed down engine started making a really horrible noise. Managed to get it home and on idle makes a really loud knocking noise. Turned it off for a while then turned it back on and it struggled to turn...
I read that on OE suspension they have different colour bands that mean what springs they are. After doing a little research i have come to this conclusion:
Springs:
Yellow band - Non cup pack
Red/White - Cup Pack
Shocks:
54mm Bolt Spacing - Non Cup pack
60mm Bolt Spacing - Cup Pack
Can...
This may have been covered before been searching a while and couldn't find a definitive answer so. I want to get my Clio 182 put on the Dyno and custom remapped. I know i could buy an RSTuner and do it myself but i would prefer to have something more tailored to my car. I know K-Tec offer this...
Just curious to know what warranties Renault offered on the Sports. I know most manufactures offer milage and age related warranties for paint work and mechanical parts.
Only ask as i have a 182 with only 54k on the clock and is only 9 years old. I was wondering if i could take advantage of any...
Had a little search but couldn't find any. Looking for some red anodised engine cover bolts, I found some stainless steel ones but none in any colours.
I don't know if this is the right place to put this and like I said I could find any information about it.
Thanks
Sorry if this in the wrong place or has been answered before. I live in the southwest and was wondering where is the best place to get my 182 iTB'D, I mean all in for parts and labour. I know K-Tec do it for about £2700 all in but you must be able to get it cheaper else where.
Thanks
I don't know if this is in the right section but I wasn't to sure. Long story short, have fitted a V6 Air box and was wondering how people have fixed it into place. It is currently just zip tied to the engine lifting point, just so it don't flap about. Was wondering if anyone knows of any...
As per title, what setup are people running? Unrated vs Standard.... Getting my rear pads/discs replaced with genuine parts now looking at what to do with the front.
Wondering if anyone has a back box hanger spare. The part that bolts to the underside of the car and takes the weight of the back box, it's connected by a bushing and the exhaust bracket.
Not to be confused with the pair of rear exhaust mounts.
Thanks
I keep getting a clicking noise coming from the passenger's side of my car when going over bumps. I know for certain it coming from the inside so that rules out suspension. It sounds like it is coming from around the seat area. It happens when going over bumps or turning right. Any suggestions ...
Just a quick question, on the standard air box there is an inlet pipe that branches off the elbow hose and goes down behind the engine, should it be plugged into anything ? Or should it just be loose not plugged in?
Thanks in Advance
Might just be the way Clio's are but just want to check. Got a clio 182 and driving it but when you get to about 90mph+ it goes a little light on the front end. Car is currently on cup suspension that are in my opinion give the car a very high ride hight.
Recently bought a 182 and the seller was nice enough to give me the V6 air box. Out of the 2 what would offer the best performance gain without sacrificing to much MPG i.e gain of 3 BHP but using twice as much fuel isn't going to being economical. Considered keeping standard and running an iTG...
So after being a paid member for a couple of months and after owning a 1.2 16v i decided to take the plunge and bought myself a Black Gold FF Clio 182. Bought it off a fellow CS member so keeping it in the ClioSport.net family. Was debating about making a project thread as at the moment i have...
For a 182, Are there any good after market disc's/pads out there or is it best to just stick with genuine parts? Secondly, how easy are rear disc's to fit? I believe the genuine ones come with the bearings already pressed so is it just a case of sliding them on ?
Thanks
Seen a couple on eBay, ranging from the cheap and cheerful ones up to the more expensive kind. Just want to know is there anything special about what kind i get. Anyone got any suggestions on ones they have bought and would recommend?
Thanks
Had an accident couple months back that was not my fault, car was a write off. Insurance have taken my car and i have been paid me for it and most of the money owed. the only thing left to get back is my excess. The policy is current still running as i don't want to cancel or i may never get my...
Just asking out of curiosity, does the dephaser on the sports have a life expectancy i.e. how many miles from new before it starts breaking down. I know there is probably not an exact answer just looking for a rogue idea. Is it classed as a serviceable part? or it is best to spend the extra...
Looking at a car that is for sale, the owners says it has had cambelt kit fitted and a genuine Renault garage for £500.
All I want to know is what does the cambelt kit consist of, would that be dephaser and aux also ?
Thanks
Just wondering where people buy performance parts for their cars? I heard of Eurocarparts for standard parts, is there other options that people find better?
I am sorry if this has already been posted somewhere else, i had a look but couldn't find a straigh forward answer. Anyone know of any good software that can be purchased or "downloaded" ;) that i can run on a laptop for fault code reading. If so then also what kind of cable would i need to plug...
