I thought all these reviews always say the E30 is still the best.
I've had an E30 M3, E36 M3 Evo, E36 M3 3.0 and E46 M3 CSL and would have to agree the E46 was the best all round and not a million miles off my current 996 GT3.
Thought I'd start a thread on here showing a few details of the clio I'm building for the 750mc 182 championship.
Have built raced and sold a BMW 318ti compact I seam to have got a bit of a bug for building race cars, not that I really have time but better than sitting around watch TV...
I've just order a 6 point safety devices cage from mark fish, as others have said in term of quality the safety devices cage looks good and Mark Fish was very helpful and nice to deal with. The cross door bars IMHO are much better than the single bars I've seen on other cages
I went for the 6...
I'm in my 4th year of doing the Production BMW championship in a E30 320i, great series very competitive but still has a friendly paddock, good value in terms of running cost and entry fees with policed driving standards to try and stop lots of panel damage.
We also get to race on some great...

thats my old car, paid the same price for it about 3 years ago. Had a lot of fun it that car including Spa, the 'ring and quite a few class wins in...
Does anyone know if the standard 172 phase 1 steering wheel is the same as other similar age clio?
Mines knackard and I've seen a few standard Clio ones for reasonable money on eBay, they look the same but I could be missing something.
The centre section of my exhaust is blowing badly
Can anyone recomend a good place to get a standard replacement? Kwik fit want £183 fitted is this reasonable? Looking at their tyre prices I doubt it
Once its in for the cheap oil service the new discs and pads you've put on would have magicly worn to the point at which there dangerous and you shouldn't take the car away until they've been replaced.
I'm quite happy with my yokohama paradas,
few people say there crap in the wet but i've always found them fine as long as you drive smothly, I sure if you start drving like a hero there not great, but coming down the mountain passes in Switzerland in the pissing down rain i found them fine.
if they've fitted front and rear pads and used renault pads the pads must be £90 leaving in the region of £70 to have fitted them.
does seam slightly high but not that silly in the grand scale of things.
I bought mine through a friends bodyshop for around £85 delivered from Renault, including bearings and abs rings.
seamed like a very good deal as 1 rear wheel bearing i'd bought from a local motor factor for £26 only lasted 3 months.
I bought a set of brembo high carbon discs and ds2500 from fred on here, and also used ap racing fluid
did SPA, the mountain roads and the ring with no problems what so ever, well maybe a bit of smoke when I stopped a couple of times but no problems with them working.
What do you consider low millage?
these are cars which, used everyday and around 6-7 years old so 40,000 must be quite low would have thought average was 70-80K
I would use coilover but that would mean changing classes in the sprinting I do,
If I bought a cup I could continue in the same class but really only want to change if it's worth while,
Also do people find 16' wheels better on track as I could feel the roll in the 50 profile tyres on the...
It was a bit of a shame I wonder if the porsche might have been worth fixing but the M3 IMHO was well and truly knackard.
That seams to be the risk with the ring, they both came over a blind crest to find mud on the road, not sure if there was any contact between the two. We came over a few...
Can't really afford the trophy but was hoping the cup was 1/2 way there, Not 100% sure about the DC2 I beat 1 sprinting at lydden but have heard so much good about them I thought It maybe down to the driver not knowing the track as well.
Yeh we were there went to SPA the monday before...
I've got a sunflower phase 1 172 and having followed a trophy round spa last week I'm considering a change as I find the body roll on the phase 1 a bit excessive and to be honest having kept my last car for years fancy chopping and changing for a while.
I can't afford the trophy, but is a...
Spent yesterday driving round spa then spent the today driving to switzland, think I might have knackard a rear wheel bearing.
Seen a Renault garage so hopefully can get a bearing and disc but don't have a large enough socket here for the hub nut,
I'll have a good look at it in the...
I remember when very young in the 80's having a book of modified super cars which included a lot of konig cars, I actually remember liking them!, but I was about 10.

Hi
I think my clutch release bearing in on its way out and i'm off on a long drive round europe at the weekend.
basicly when the clutch its pushed down there's a slight whine from the bearing it's not that loud but noticable.
Is this fairly common? is it likely to mean a complete failure...
Not 100% sure about the noise being a wheel bearing but if it is they're easy to change.
Easiest way is to buy new bearings and rear discs from renault mine where around £85-90 for a pair of disc and bearings.
Hi
I think the long power steering pipe on my car is slightly leaking, has anyone replaced this themselves? and how difficult is it to do?
Is there a guide anywhere?
Cheers
Andy
