Re: Bren's Sunflower 172
Finally got round to giving the car a service, will be ordering the correct PF6E-10 spark plugs at the end of the month, as well as either booking the car in to the bodyshop.... or a cheeky trip to Ireland to enjoy the country roads.
Also need to order a new lower...
just be sure they are acually 'highsports'... as there are many different FK variations.
Also.. Venom Motorsport are a terrible company, I ordered some 2 weeks ago, and they sent me a set for a MK1. Now I've returned them, and they are dragging their feet sending out a new replacement set...
Re: Bren's Sunflower 172
Yeah, loving the colour so much, gets better the more i see it.
Bought the tool set on ebay but jord mentioned they sell a similar one in costco. all 6 side sockets which is awesome.
They are something a but special. I have to get a new bumper anyway as the...
Cheers, 2118s would be great but they carry a premium because everyone wants them. We'll see, as wheels aren't THAT much of a priority at the mo.
A4 is gone, bought this the next day. Miss cruising in piece, but this is miles more fun.

Re: Bren's Sunflower 172
Sparco wheel makes such a huge difference.. finally remembered to get some pics.
Fingers crossed coilovers will arrive by the weekend, but Venom Motorsport are so w4nk that I imagine it'll be September.
Also, due to not being able to find any tools and my...
AA will break into your car if you have cover, although they may siggest a locksmith at your expense. I did the same thing last week, just smashes passenger window and replaced it. People give the glass away for free if you are willing to collect. I got quite a few offers when I was looking for...
Well I'm on my second Ph1 within a year. I originally sold it thinking I wanted something derv, and just missed the handling too much. On the road the Ph1 is massively underated by Joe Bloggs on the street and that is what makes it special. The handling is just superb out of the box, and the...
That is awesome... technically though they could hold you captive if they really wanted to, from anywhere in the world. Perhaps it's their plan to take over the world and lock all the important people in their 7 series'
I've got a clifford alarm and immobiliser, so if I rev the engine past 3k and the doors are closed then it locks. This is what happened to me when I thought I heard a rattle and got out to check under the bonnet.
Smash passenger front, i had to do it on mine the other day. People give away the glass for free they are so common. Not to hard to replace once you are shown how.

you were right... the O/S ball joint bolts were nearly loose enough to turn by hand. Seems sorted now, but will be sticking fresh nuts on them at the weekend to be sure they don't come loose again any time soon.
Re: Bren's Sunflower 172
Found out what the annoying knock is... loose bottom ball joint. Fitted a month ago apparenlty, and were nearly finger tight.
it does get a few looks, people that don't know what it is just think it's a standard clio. When I pass a 172 I get a second glance though...
Re: Bren's Sunflower 172
Thanks dude. I love the colour, but I'll be honest I had to take a deep breath before buying it. I wasn't sure whether I'd hate it after a while. Can't wait for the day I pass another sunflower on the road... if ever
Re: Bren's Sunflower 172
Yeah It's been edited a little too much, and does look a liquid yellow there. Thanks dude.
It's really boomy inside, and almost unbearable on long drives. We'll see - I'll be getting rid of the exhaust on it anyway.
Spot on, thanks again mate. Had a bit of a mare...
Will do. I'll jack it up when I get home and take a look. Fingers crossed it's just something simple. I can replace them when the coilovers arrive. Cheers guys.
cheers, ball joints are a nice cheap fix, so fingers crossed. it only started doing it (noticably) in the past day or so. it's just a little irritating. Also, I worry that accelerating with the wheel out of line will wear the CV joint.
as above really.
When setting off and stopping I get a single knock. It feels like perhaps a bush that has gone. it is coming from the O/S (drivers) side, and looks like the wheel is visibly moving backwards in the arch when stopping at low speed.
I also find that the pulls a little to the...
