    Wedding Photography

#1, would have gone a little wider to give the subject some breathing space #2, background is distracting, at f6.3 pretty much the whole frame will be in focus, f2.8 would have defocused it. The old fashioned lamp post is distracting and appears to just out of grooms arm. The shadows are...

    What would you do?

I got 5% off a lens purchase recently in jessops as it was a price match. In all honesty I would rather pay over the odds and get to try the end first than have to faff about trying to return a poor copy of a lens.

The whole sea and rock, long exposure thing is overdone by togs but I can't help but like them:o

    An 18-200mm, but which one?

The Tamron 18-270 is about £400-500 has good IQ for a 'scout; lens and is great for travel as its very small!

    My Photos

Hi Adam Heres my take #1 - The composition with the sun in the middle doesn't especially work, its too bright has caused a large 'blown' area into the picture causing the rest to underexpose badly. Whilst this sort of picture can make a nice silhouette type image, there is too much dark area...

    Panamoz, anyone used them?

I would use them and nearly did to buy a body but I don't mind paying rrp for a lens if I get to try it out first and make sure it's a good copy.

Gear recommendation for a city trip to NY??

Better is very subjective. The Tokina is crap at 18mm ;) I would say yes at 11mm, no at 16mm for sharpness. It's faster for a start, although not by much if your referring to the f3.5 version of the 10-20. The tokina is generally considered the best ultrawide zoom but it has a limited zoom...

Rhod, love the waterfall, Martin you wouldn't be shooting for the comp now would you;) It's weird, I have just uploaded that shot into my gallery on dpreview and it's tack sharp! I will repost it smaller Dunraven Bay by Brazo76, on Flickr

Is it just me or is Flick 'Argh' blurring shots? My Dunraven Bay shot above is pin sharp back to front in Lightroom but on Flickr it just doesn't appear sharp!

    Nikkor 50mm f1.4

Another vote here for 35mm, fifty is talked about a lot but unless you have fullframe it's a mild telephoto lens! The Nikon 1.8 is very good, very fast and has it's own Flickr group if you wish to check some samples.

    Photoshop is cheating. Discuss.

Photography is Art, period. It's also used by countless tourists but don't let that put you off. I agree that digital art isn't photography but tweaking an image in Photoshop simply means that you are expressing the scene as you see it, not how the camera sees it. If you want the latter become...

Thames path mate, start at Westminster bridge and follow it to tower bridge. Take the 18-200, sell the 50 it's such an odd focal length for crop sensors.

    A few snaps from London

Hi Sam I was in London yesterday with the Mrs and did some shots too so heres my feedback from a first person perspective. I like shots 1 and 2, its an interesting angle of the london eye. but as Dan says the composition needs work, the horizon is dead in the middle as is the eye. Your shot was...

    What would you do?

I have to say I was surprised at the comments that you won't have time to change lenses and I mentioned this to a friend who has done some weddings and he agrees with you guys that you won't have time to change lenses! Surely though if you have time to take a leak (which you will need to do at...
