No idea on a 172 but you can;t miss the accelerator cable on the Willy, get some one to rev the car while you look under the hood, the bit that moves is your cable or it could be chocolate engine mounts..lol. Anyway spray WD in the cable housing if you will.

I had a sticky accelerator, I just fired some WD40 down the cable and its been fine for months now [Edited by FlamingMonkey on 5/20/2005 12:38:57 PM] This was on a Williams though so might not be applicable, im sure someone will know

I get more out of my Willy using Optimax, I know it makes f**k all diff to the performance but I seem to get more miles from similar dollars

Just been to Shell garage and saw an older bloke pull up a Naples 16v with Willy wheels, looked tidy, you followed me through Darwen, and happended to pass a Cup Blue 182 going the other way. Cliofest indeed.
