It cracks me up how naive some people are on here, Renault's hourly labour rate is alot less than some of the other mainstream manufacturers.
Also you do realise that the majority of specialists and their employees are ex-renault mechanics!!! Yet everyone is always banging on about how...
That was a bargain that.
Needs to be decked, I would hand paint it nato green, steelies with white wall tyres would look good, needs to be a chrome roof rack really.
Im not defending them but the clip report prob showed a missfire in cylinders 1-4, the first step is to change the plugs as the service interval on plugs is far too long and non genuine cheap plugs can also cause a problem. I guess doing process of elmination a specialist may well have just...
I know this car I work with the old owner, its got alot of service history and is in very good condition. I ve emailed him the link he will be on in a minute.
Its for sale at Mitsi?
Genuine NGK plugs: £35-40
Decent Oil: £30-40
Oil filter £5.00
Air filter: £8.00?
Fuel filter: £8.00?
£30 labour? I wouldn't get out of bed for that tbh.
LOL and when the specialists run out of ideas they book it in with Renault for a diagnostic or they ring up and ask to speak to a tech, yeah i ve taken a job on and under cut you hugely on price but im stuck any chance you can talk me through how to do it! 10 calls a day from back street garages...
My yr 2000 Ph1 is holding up quite well, the steering wheel is fubar'd but apart from that its ok, rattles like fook though and its not even lowered. I miss the german interior of my lupo.
Renault assist is only for the first 2yrs, the car may well have been pre registered as believe it or not dealers were struggling to get hold of them!
I would leave the wheels on and just pay a local recovery company to take it in, most of them take cash and are quite cheap.
ROFL!
On something like a coil pack/ o2 sensor I can't forsee a problem, its only on major issues gearbox/ engine/ etc that they have to see detailed invoices if you haven't had it serviced at a maindealer.
Even if you change the coil pack yourself it still needs to go on a clip machine to clear the fault codes and get rid of the warning light.
Just book it in to Renault under warranty and claim ignorance regarding the servicing.
