My general experience of catergorised cars is avoid like a chick with a dick.
Before and after photos are a must, it may look cracking but it could handle like a pig, uneven tyre wear etc, most cars are never the same again as most people just replace the bare minimum to get them back on the...
I ve got 4 new Pirelli p6000s on mine lol, came with the car, they are utter shite.
I will probably replace them in the near future with T1R's always got on well with the toyos and in 15" guise they are cheap too.
Lol, tbh the gearbox is a complete sack of s**t in the RS clios, bearing in mind Renault say the oil never needs changing you would be amazed the amount of difference a gearbox oil change makes after 65k. Its still a s**t gearbox but it feels alot smoother now and makes the car more enjoyable to...
Had my gearbox oil changed before christmas, you can keep your panel filters, decats and bolt on tat, one of the best value mods you can make on an rs clio and you will see the improvement.
Secondhand keys will not work.
New keys are around £140 coded INC, coding is a half hour charge (£35 depending on dealer), the rest is the plip.

Having been PM'd the reg I can confirm that the vehicle when new did not come out of the factory with central locking or powersteering, I can only assume it is a base model.
Oh dear, PM me the reg and I will let you know whether it came with p/s and c/l from new, tbh though i ve never come accross a clio 2 without these attributes.
Did you HPI it?
I expect the log book said 'these vehicle has been seriously damaged and repaired' or whatever the CAT C spiel is these...
Birchdown are very competitive.
Renault replace the full kit, belts, tensioners, the lot. Alot of other places don't bother with the aux belt tensioner and things like cabin filters etc and most use non gen parts, nothing wrong with that but bare in mind your not always comparing like for like...
I find its a bit of a handful to use everyday so I keep it for the weekend I ve got my
KTM X-BOW for going to tescos etc.
ROFL
Its just like any other clio, does 33mpg, is easy to park etc, keep it serviced and it will be fine.
I was looking into these before Christmas, finally took the plunge yesterday, bought a Samsung NC10 in blue (same colour as my golf :approve:)
if anybody is considering a netbook, go for it, its a little cracker.
I used to do Nottingham to Bournemouth non stop all the time in my 1.2 clio, was absolutely fine, was lightly loaded most of the time but it st at 90 with the best of them, small cars have come on along way.
I haven't been very far in the 172 but I do around 160 miles a week just going to work...
