^^ I agree with this - I don't even think you'd need the road mapping
If you took the map I have and whacked it on - when we went to map mine on the rollers it was sooooo close that it could have been done in an hour - but I wanted more work done at the time hence the £300
Ermm NO sorry but the 350D is beyond old
It doesn't have a CMOS sensor - it has a 1.8" screen which is tiny. It doesn't have live view, it's a s**tty 8mp sensor, only goes to 1600ISO
I could list issues with it for the rest of the week and honestly I could get better quality photos with my...
Quick blast over from scarborough to nottingham - can even try before you buy ;)
FYI: It's the setup I started with and it's a nice little camera. Bit old now but a good entry into learning DSLR settings
LOL I'm not suprised Dave to be honest with the state of the map that was on it when I bought it ;)
RS2 isn't on hold so much - they've put the group buy on hold because not enough people were interested in it. You can buy it now for £1,145 but there's a 4-6 week typical delivery timescale as...
No this was after he had the new engine fitted and remapped
There was about 6 of us in Clios having a test - we both left all the 172/182's behind by a long way but he couldn't keep up with mine - it pulled an easy 5 or 6 car lengths over him
Soon as you get over 5k the bodies pull like a steam...
But anyway yeah the RS2 is an option -> http://www.cliosport.net/forum/showthread.php?691656-The-RS2-Performance-Intake-Manifold-***-Group-Buy-Details-Inside-***
Costs £1145 + £300 mapping and you'd get 90% of the power and keep the standard fly by wire config and standard ecu
Works out around...
I wasn't talking about peddling around a track. Completely straight line the ITB's were significantly quicker
The standard RS2's make 150lbs/ft everywhere - yours were extended 50mm and made more torque
My ITB's would make more torque if I had 120mm trumpets too and fitting longer trumpets is a...
Ahhh got you - I assumed they were saying they literally weren't long enough - but no I understand the risk of them heating up and stretching and working loose is high
I think I'm going to go with some 25mm bolt to hub spacers with the PMS stud kit - I just need to be sure the 25mm won't rub...
This is the graph from chip of an RS2'd engine
Down 5-8bhp on mine and only 150lbs/ft of torque
I'd rather have the extra torque above 5k cos you really don't drop below 5k on track
They don't make the RS2 Xtra any more - there was just a few made - they only do the standard one now
JamesT had a Trophy with an RS2 on it, fully stripped out and caged same as mine - it couldn't keep up with the ITB's at all.
Also not sure where you get those figures from - DanP has just...
208nm of torque which I think is about 154lbs/ft
It's a very usable amount of power - that's one thing me and the mapper wanted to achieve rather than an impressive peak figure.
It pulls very very well out of corners :D I just need a diff next haha
I think it could do with 120mm trumpets to...
I still find all this very difficult to understand
PMS say there studs will only support up to a 12mm spacer but then chip says 15 and even 20mm is fine
I don't want to fit 25mm bolt to hub spacers to find they rub at the front but I also don't want to buy a stud kit and then find I can...
They have a little chip inside them that is read by a ring around the ignition barrel when you put the key in
If someone has had a cheap copy made in the past by just cutting a matching key then it will open the doors/boot fine but won't disable the immobiliser so the car won't start
Yep
Standard 172 engine, jenvey ITB's, omex 600, with 182 manifold and an oreca group n exhaust with 200 cell sports cat
194bhp
That was after an entire morning of mapping and it was red hot - We think it's probably more around 200bhp when cooled down but I've never had a power run since it...
I would definitely got the ITB route
It made a hell of a difference on track for mine and what really put me off cams is if the engine dies you have to rebuild them into a new block
I've got 194bhp on my bog standard engine and if it pops I can buy a £250 lump - swap my bodies onto it and...
To save you searching mate it's this one you need
7700437055
It's got the same 2.7 turns lock to lock as the cup rack so nice and quick :)
There's one on ebay -...
Yeah - my cable goes straight to the split box in the engine bay as my battery is in the boot - but you'd do it straight to the battery
Earth cable I just made a short one to the big 13mm bolt on the bottom of the dashboard metalwork
The ECU itself has a huge relay in it and it cuts the...
Interesting you should say that - spoke to Joe earlier and the issue he had with his 106 Turbo is he went for a drive out and the bolts holding the exhaust to turbo fell out
What bolts should you use?
Nah it would be entirely an October -> March thing ready for the French series next year ;)
Wouldn't be changing any brakes/suspension etc... so shouldn't need re-setting up or anything
Just fancy tidying all the wiring up
Got to fit extuingisher and power cut off and bits anyway
And...
Yep all the right parts
As you say you'll need the center plug - also you'll need a 60A fuse in-line in the power cable to the ecu. Put it in the engine bay close to the battery so that if the cable shorts out under the dash at any point it doesn't burst into flames :)
I think it's do-able just about if you pull the block as forward as you can and remove all the heat shields but it's a b**ch getting the heat shields back on with the manifold in place
