As a portrait lens , you don't need to worry about close focusing distance - most people don't like having a lens shoved up there nostrils. Bit of stand off is what you need to a portrait, unless of course you want nostril hairs in the image lol

sometimes less is more with boot builds. Big fat cable...quality fusebox perhaps, would ditch those HORRIBLE speakers.

you are missing the point...HDR = HIGH DYNAMIC RANGE So you should be getting both detail in the shadows and in the highlights...this shot is too underexposed. Re shoot it but with more stops...I often use 5 exposures.

we use nikons for work.....nit sure about the sigmas?? Some of the new sigma lenses are fairly decent...so the x2's should follow suit.

looks a bit flat...try to boost the saturation slider up a touch, and maybe the microcontrast setting needs tweaking.

They are 17's ....looks even better in the flesh...some say 17's are to big for a clio, but these look perfect. Rich also has Apex springs, which helps the wheels fill the arches really well.

never really used macro lenses before now...the 60mm belongs to a mate at work, so can't really comment. The 60mm is pin sharp though......does not let you go quite close enough for my liking i.e insect photography etc.

part of the problem is - not everyone owns/ or can afford a dedicated macro lense. So providing us with a "proper" macro shot will be quite difficult for some - hence the title is good in the fact it allows people to post " close up" shots too, thus letting "everyone" enter what they feel to...
