If you had a good budget and your gonna keep the car a new gearbox from renault isnt as much as you think and they have changed the design on the new boxes instead of a circlip theres a retaining plate with 3 13mm bolts holding the diff in,who's fitting the engine ?
if you have so much money why are you driving a 172,you must have to much spare time of your own if your looking at peoples profiles seeing how old they p.s i think you should definatly get lexus lights you deserve them
theres someone on hear who's just started his own business in portsmouth,i hear good things about him look in the media section there was a meet there on saturday mike172sport is his user name
i very much doubt it nick never advertises things,i´ve had magnecor leads on the last three cars ive had and never had a problem with them, the leads get very hot on the 172 as they sit on the rocker cover iirc
I could be wrong but i think the standard leads on a 172/182 get really hot and break up,my standard leads were starting to break up after 5000 miles,i think the magnecor hold the heat out better due to the material,i had mine off nick very good price too
whats wrong with the exhaust not been really loud that would be an added bonus, and i would say the supersprint sports cat would be top notch as supersprint always make good systems you get what you pay for
if the vvti did not work the car would idle very roughly it cuts off roughly below 2grand i think i couldbe wrong but i´m sure someone will correct me,yeah i like the one about the handpicked maybe they were picked from ones made on a friday afternoon, the 182 manifold on a 172 is a lot of work...
you might get more power out of the 5 gt engine but you´ll also get loads of hassle, plus arnt you going back in time taking out an engine that runs on injection and putting a 5 engine in thats carb, the 16v engine would be a nice gain
Have to agree with stu on this one i´ve never seen the point in building a car you can buy, fair enough doing 2 litre conversions on the valvers, but a 172 conversion i just cant see the point
how about going for a sports cat it saves the hassle of having to put the cat back on for the MOT and i know a lot of people have them on here but i think they sound raspy
i use auto glym leather cleaner then auto glym leather care cream once every six months,i dont think it does it any good to constantly clean it according to autoglym
Renault probably spent thousands designing the bodywork on a clio v6 in wind tunnels, which would have been designed to give more downforce to the back wheels and downforce to the rear wheels on a fwd isnt much good,a bit like putting a cossie spoiler on a fwd
did you have the camber setup when you fitted the coilovers if not might be worth having them laser alligned otherwise not much point having them,if you did have them setup and you have changed the wheels that can knock it out
Sorry to be an arse but ive never seen the point in building a car you can buy,for how much it would cost you could sell the 172 and use the money which you would need to do it and buy a mk1 v6
