Renault make loads of uprated parts they do have quite a racing pedigree, the cam and ecu are renault,i think they might use the r-sport inlet manifold,i couldnt care less if this kit is a load of sh*te but ive been told by people related to renault who have seen this proven
Why cant a rolling road be used for proof of power gains,if you keep using the same rolling road everytime you add somthing to the engine, this is renault testing these parts not some backstreet garage,i think they use the r-sport inlet manifold aswell,
Some very good comments there scott,i didnt have my 172 through snobbery though,i had it cause i work all the hours god sent on 24hour call repairing burst mains getting soaked through and covered in mud,and i wanted a valver but bought a 172 for a bit of comfort out of work
agreed loony some really sound blokes, but It seems like theres a few which are happy when there ripping into mk2s but arnt so keen having a bit back,i wonder if renault 5 owners had the same arguement when the mk1 clio came out ?
I hate getting into these this is quicker than that,he brought the 16v with a scrap engine and put a 1.8 16v engine out of a 19,i have absolutely nothing to gain from saying this, there owners club must be really interesting if theyve gotta start threads on other sites
I hope you dont think im one of these starting trouble,i swear to god thats true about the 16v, the sri had got quite a bit done to it,i dont wanna put any renault down im a massive fan,
You dont have to be a good driver in a stright line its just not quick, you get good 16vs and bad ones, and not to stir this up anymore but if the 1.8 16v is such a good lump why are there so many 2.0litre conversions,
I love 16vs before anyone starts i just think there underpowered
Why not be different and build the 1.6 16v engine,i can never understand building a car you can buy surely if you wanted a 172 you would of brought one, youd get a lot more recognition for building a quick 1.6 16v than a 172 engine that should be quick anyway
Im not trying to contradict you but every clio 16v ive been in has really slow,my mates got one and he gets thrashed by 1.4sri corsas,id be surprised if a 16v was quicker than 205 1.6gti
Mines at hillpower having h&r ciolovers fitted at the minute and an exhaust, there been setup tomorrow,so ill let you know how it handles when ive got it back,Bojo i suggest you have them laser alligned other wise there no point having them
This kit uses renault parts, renault make masses of group N parts, and renault have rolling roaded this kit which is where the power figures come from,so all of the parts for this kit can be brought from renault
I love mk1s and mk2s,but at the end of the day renault have had to change the shape of the clio to keep up with other manufacturers,mk1 172s are getting rare already which will make them stand out more, just like 16vs & williams do
mk1s are a lot rarer now but 10 years ago they was ten a penny, just like mk2s will be rarer in years to come, and how do they do a 1.2 version of the 172/182,its got different wings, wheels, interior, bumpers, irmc
I think you could have worded this topic a bit better,if we all had mk1s it would be pretty boring,i like 16vs & williams but my 172 has got everything i want,a bit of luxury and a quick engine,as i see it the williams was the better handling car but the 172 has got the better engine
Me and my girlfriend was walking around motorhouse 2000 the other week just having a nose, and there was loads of nobs with burberry hats on looking at 182s,the affordability of the 172/182 imo is a bad thing i know everyone likes a bargain but we dont wanna be getting a bad name
