Yes and a system that's not short on plentiful lenses of stunning quality. Just because it's not badged canikon doesn't make it shite. The highly regarded reviews of the k5 never refer to a lack of lenses.
Cheers Dan, I do have the same shot without the foreground but thought the posts added a little interest, might have a little play!
I straighten and add the lens corrections. The colour in the shots above all looked like that from the camera with the 'sunset' jpeg setting. As I shoot raw this...

Pentax certaintly isn't short on quality lenses, whilst it doesn't have the sheer number of lenses of the most popular two, its a mature system with lenses for every application. Will be interested to hear your thoughts jj, the lack of a tilting lcd is putting me off. Odd thing I know but I do a...
Glad you like it, balance has been restored ;)
That said when I'm out and about and making a mental note of the names on eleyse straps canon do seem to outnumber Nikon at least 3 to 1
I was going by the classifications on the DXO website. Even the D7000 is considered entry level but I suppose it depends what classification system you use. There's entry level, semi pro and professional.
Factual, not stupid and we are discussing an entry level dslr not the very fine 1dx. Canons sensors lack low light quality and dynamic range. Sorry but that's the truth! We are comparing entry dslr bodies and ill say it again why would you choose a canon!
I'm neither Nikon or Canon so don't have a horse in this race! From an objective outsiders point of view, there really is no good reason to choose a canon body at present, their sensor technology is generations behind and if you already have Nikon lenses its a no brainer imo.
Same question I am currently pondering.
If you wish to pixel peep then the Pentax and Nikon are nigh on neck and neck, the Canons sensor is somewhat behind, not much better than micro four thirds!
From your list the Pentax is weather proofed, has in body image stabilisation and in body...
