Ubuntu is based on Debian, which is about as "real" as you can get - fully volunteer etc..

Awesome.. looked just like that, too! :D
None of this none-functional-cube-wobbly-windows crap ;) :rasp:
You're right to ignore them, tho. ;) *RUNS*
IE and stuff does interpret things odd.. I've spent ages getting things working before.. I've not looked at your code yet - too busy! Heh.
LMAO. I did write a whole paragraph of chown, chmod etc.. but deleted it as I thought "not even KDF is that pedantic!" :rasp:
Oh, and on the subject of being pedantic, you need 700 on a folder.. else not even the owner will be able to cd into it ;) :nono:
It is geeky yea.. but that's what Linux is. None Geeks use Windows or OSX.. Seriously :) Windows or OSX "just work" on the desktop.. (OSX more so ;))
Imagine that screen, with 10 terminals on it, 1600x1200 on the big ass CRT.. that's what I was using. Awesome - there was nothing I couldn't...
See, this: http://fluxbox.sourceforge.net/zoom.php?themes/contrib/seer-o_influx.jpg
Looks better to me. It's awesome. It's everything Linux is/should be ;) :D
See, the only screenshots you ever see nowadays is that damn stupid, useless cube :rasp:
Back in the day, we used to show off TTF fonts working properly, and terminals.. now it's all a load of shitty eye-candy :p :rasp: *RUNS*
Until someone does an ls -a or makes whatever file manager they're using show dot files? :rasp:
This is just the same as making a folder hidden in XP.. it's fine until someone tells it to show the damn file :p
