In terms of domains, AD is MILES ahead of anything else.. seriously miles ahead.. then add Exchange etc.. and there isn't a rival.
KDF knows it too.. he'll admit it one day.. he loves it ;)
Microsoft market there stuff much differently.. they have the entire market, where Apple have the "I want this PC to work" market..
Microsoft have Home, Business, People who just want a computer etc..
Not always.. that's all based on a lot of other factors.
If you use generic terms, then expect to pay a lot of money per click to get anywhere near the first page.. or do even more work than standard optomisation to get a better quality score etc. to bring the CPC down.
My list of differences between the 1, 2, and the 3.

That's fine. Plug the laptop into the router via CAT5 (you'll get a cable), goto the router's config pages http://192.168.1.1 if you get the Netgear, go through the setup.. and done!
Remember to secure the wireless tho using WPA and giving it a password :)
Probably.
Get an Wireless ADSL router.. something like a Netgear DG834G with wireless. You can still plug in using CAT5, but.. seeing as you have a Macbook, wireless would be the way IMO.
Set it up using your Tiscali details, and connect your Macbook via wireless then have fun walking around...
Try doing that from a Windows machine ;)
As I say, it could be old.. I'm sure I read somewhere patches etc to get around it.. I'm talking a few years now too :rasp:
I use it on my laptop, and increasingly all the time now, and I think it's crap. (It's going on this desktop later this week probably)
But hey.. I still use it.
Then again, I thought XP was crap until SP2, too.
You can't anymore.. they changed the OEM quite a bit.. have a look at the new license.. off the top of my head, it means completely assembled PC or close now.
It'll be way too much trouble to edit DNS etc.. and, if you're host is down, and they host your DNS, even more trouble..
I say just sit tight, and hope it comes back quickly.
