I have been looking at upgrading my 172 for a trophy and it just seems pointless really for practically the same car, so i am looking at boxsters instead :p
I have one, and i love it, airplay screen mirroring is the best feature, its just so handy. i bought one for my parents for christmas and they love how they can just play music and view photo's so easily.
Looks like it has plenty of potential that, I would be checking out what lowering springs it is running to see where to go with future upgrades.
Oh and it isn't a clio sport. its a RenaultSport Clio. a clio sport is a 1.2/1.4 16v ph1.
Yeah, so what you have is a 200 Full fat meaning a normal 200 with the optional cup pack.
You can tell because you have a rain sensor and painted side strips.
From the factory there were two versions, normal and cup.
Cup had red calipers, stiffer suspension and faster steering rack.
Non cup didn't but instead had more stuff as standard like climate control and auto wipers but you could spec the things the 'cup' had as optional extra's.
i think it was just the fact it is quite obvious to most people how to remove the springs and from what you said in your OP you had just jacked it up and expected them to fall out without lowering the rear beam.
Are the wheels off? If you can get a jack on the rear beam and put the sills on axle stands and gradually lower the beam with the wheels off they will come out easy peasy.
