I was in a similar position to the OP last year, wanted to buy car mods but couldn't afford it, I knew this so I just didn't buy them simple really, now I have a decent job and can splash out on these things.
I take it this is for your camber bolts?
if you have set your camber evenly you might be luck like i was and not need camber adjustment then alignment is £25, I think its £25 again for camber as well at protyre.
I don't think it's a niche product, i think the market is smaller than that of the iPhone but the Nexus 4 is priced to try and get iPhone users who may not be happy with their phones at the minute due to the IOS 6 issues to give an android phone a chance for a relatively small outlay.
One og my housemates told me he didn't want the Nexus 4 because it was "too cheap" and would rather a HTC one x+ because it's more expensive. Now he's buying a Samsung Galaxy mini because its worth £300.
Well virgin media seem to currently have an issue where they are packet shaping YouTube to an extreme level during peak times meaning even watching 240p videos is impossible. I have 60Mbps and I have a friend with 120Mbps we live in different parts of the country and we both can't watch YouTube...
How are google making these phones so cheap, think I might buy one to replace my god awful sensation XE when they come back in stock. For £240 its rude not too!
I am running Hankook V12 evo's at the minute, they seem superb, wet grip is very very good and dry grip aint bad either, I found I wore the edges out quite quickly and destroyed the front left on one track day. For the money I can't see anything much better tbh.
