Yes it can only render it at 720P. Only 'full title' game I know it does at 1080p and 60FPS is Wipeout HD fury. This though utilises a special technology where some of the detail is dropped on different frames in every 'second'. Of course you don't realise if 15 out of 60 frames have less...

I don't disagree with what your saying but would suggest the PS3 is more limited by ram than processing power, yes it has a shite rsx but 'teh' cell can do GPU stuff as well. The cell is a fair chunk faster at processing 'folding at home' cycles than some quad core pc's so it can do the raw...

I think its a more slower tactical viewpoint, essential for taking apporpriate cover like in Gears of War and GTA. Oh and you can see around corners! I know what you mean about the GTA and vehicle thing as on afew occasions online I really struggled when reversing!
