Re: Mk1 172 Hybrid Track Car Project
Chris... says (19:09):
must be a success?!
Jord says (19:10):
oh my god!!!!
i cant even explain how much faster it is!!!!! lol
Looks good that.
You wouldn't do me a favour would you please, and measure the distance between a pair of opposite mounting holes. I'm just looking at bosses for my mk1 to fit my Sabelt Cup wheel, but it'd be nice to know if a more well known brand of wheel is the same fitment.
Did they take much bedding in as such? I'm tempted to order some in time for Brands RS day, but I doubt i'll get chance to run them on the road before hand. Bad idea?
Re: PH1 172 Track Car, abit special *ITB update*
Do exactly that! lol. Have seen a welded in rear harness bar a few times too, same height as yours but a fair bit further back, lessening the angle.

Re: PH1 172 Track Car, abit special *ITB update*
Doesnt make it any more correct. And being a track car, the chances of you crashing are a fair amount greater. Just thinking of your safety, not going to affect me!

Yep it was more the angle i'd be concerned about. Im sure the diagram that Edde posted about 7 billion times is still floating about. And I don't have the wheel sat in front of me yet, smart arse! ;)
Re: PH1 172 Track Car, abit special *ITB update*
Cage is only a bolt in yes? So you're harnesses are wrapped around a bolt in cage, at a stupidly steep angle? Great!
It's the way forwards! I thought of this thread as I was doing it. Actually looking forward to my nice quiet ride to work at 6 in the morning now.
I'll buy another one 2nd hand, same as this one. It did get the wire brush and VHT paint treatment before I put it on though, so I'm hoping that...
Old thread bump.
I've just removed a Yozzasport and decat exhaust from my 182 and replaced it with a standard system. Admittedly the decat is still on, but I've fallen in love with the car again! Being able to sit at 70 and hold a conversation and listen to the radio is brilliant.
Have I...
