Rejuvenate and a white hex pad will remove a lot of the dead oxidized paint. May also remove some minor swirls depending on what car and how hard the paint is. It will be a good start to learn the basics and practice with. This alone will transform an old tired uncared for paint.
stepping up...
my little use of it, it appears to be a little more concentrated but that might be down to the longer dwell time as it won't run off like the sprays. I typically used it for the corners of wheel spokes and as it starts to work give it a general spray over with IX spray
Autosmart? do a fallout remover pretty cheap but 5litre tins. Doesn't change colour with the reaction with metal fallout but reports seem to be good none the less.
I found finale to be OK, wasn't anything special but certainly nothing wrong with it. Didn't really add anything of its own to the finish or protection which I liked
Really getting on well with the prima slick at the moment though, much prefer it over Z6
if you have the full kit, the heavy cutting pad and polish combo is quite a decent cut level from my little play with it. moving up from that you're getting serious clear coat removal.
I personally wouldn't bother chasing out the really heavy marks, as the clear coat removal will be quite high...
tardis followed by an iron remover, think polished bliss supply autofinesse or wolfs iron removers. follow this with clay.
then top with SRP if you have it, if not look at others like rejuvenate, prime etc from P.B. HD wax is pretty good and hard wearing if application is thin. can be awkward...
Proper proper prep, then real proper prep. Then seal with a nano / quatz coating like GTechniq, cquartz, nanolex.
After that all you need is normal shampoo to wash them.
Search for my thread on using a proper sealant after 15months with just a citrus cleaner with GTechniq C5
Wifey handed me a revised shopping list of baby gear we 'need' so having to thin out my collection.
Bouncers 22 and Satsuma Rock just hit the for sale section should anyone be interested
If youve applied hd wax thin enough, only a light buff with a mf cloth is needed, so you shouldnt have to worry about swirls
.
Apply it using the supplied red applcators dampened first to help keep the layers thin.
At 80 in 3rd aren't you pulling top revs just before changing to 4th?
Saying what revs this flat spot is at will help. Sounds more to me that peak power is starting to drop off
ive seen the many adverts, even says that on the AF website, and compared to 95% of other shampoos it isnt. the more suds, foam on the panel it doesnt rinse as well.
more suds doesnt mean better cleaning or lubrication
i use a gtechniq version on my mountain biking clothing. never personally needed something like that on my interior but can see it has its uses for some people
Stick to the black and white hex pads, work well for cleansing as have a little bite, finish down well and still soft enough to glaze with. I hardly used the softer red or blue pads.
