look into proper wash technique first, stickied at the top of the section
second look into proper decontamination of the paint, very important on lighter coloured cars. tar remover, iron and fallout remover. then claying. no point sealong a car if you still have all that sh!t on the paint still...
i had a sample of one of them, the whole application and feel is exactly what im looking for, it is what sparked off this thread. but the sample i had is a show wax and durability just isnt enough for how much rubbish our cars get put through. if they lasted another month choice would be easy
thanks Kev, that'd be good to try. will send you the AF prototype tomorrow
i remember something about MS having to be put over one of their other products, thought was to get a good bond no just for durability.
what do you know about anglewax? guardian looks and sounds familiar
G1 is the sealant, G2 is used to remove the residue after application. They come as a kit together, can also get it with G4 glass polish to thoroughly clean the glass before application but not 100% required.
both threads are still available if you have the link to them, but you can't seem to find them if you're on DW.
I agree it's wrong claiming it's all home made, when it may be relabelled. But I would imagine most have bought a base product and fractionally tweeked and re advertised. I would hope...
gordon claims definitive wax don't make there own waxes and just mix liquid wax provided from another supplier after a new member claims and M&K are same products rebranded from Car Chem. Definitive wax throws toys out the pram and puts up thread saying they are leaving. All this happened...
Definitive wax have packed their bags and left, no longer on DW.
Which ever way the argument went I'm surprised this was the outcome. I hate to gossip but would there really have been all this fuss if there wasn't some doubt?
seems to be a lot of we make our own, we buy other and relabel remours flyingabout lately. to be honest i woul never know and ouldnt really care. as long as im happy with the servicce and get the product i want at a price i want to pay im happy.
lets face it, detailing is over priced, all we...
sold the rotary to get another DA, forgot how bad the vibrations were but getting results im happy with.
why is that
was considering the group buy from definitive wax, but seeing all the fuss this weekend and threatening to leave DW i'll steer clear
i missed a pot of R55 by a few minutes this weekend otherwise id have grabbed it.
bouncers are looking likely, what are peoples thoughts on real world durability?
i can see vics as a show wax. it was almost like seeing you wash the wax off each week with the constant deterioration
I fancy trying something new just for the sake of it. Would like some open recommedations.
I would like it to be;
Rich and glossy
Oily, or soft and buttery so it spreads thinly with ease.
Simple to remove regardless of temperature
Would like to see 3months durability, i dont want to be...
its always been stated that G1 will not run off water until 50mph, G5 from 30mph. but his all depends on driving conditions. for me wih a decent gap to the car in front a cars passing the other way G1 will start to run water from 35mph albeit at a slow rate. and again i guess it depends on what...
a quick detailer is used after maintenance washes to bring back the just waxed look.
to be honest using it to remove dust will inflict more swirls and marring
a few random parts, not 100% which to keep just in case I need them but will update tonight / tomorrow
most likely R222 pre wax cleanser, Chemical guys new car smell, either GTechniq C1.5 or C2. I can't remeber what else
Cheaper if you buy them from a proper detailing shop online than ebay
cheaper again if you buy from a supplier that is a trader that gives discount to CS members
don't use poly clays, they're aweful!
one of my favourites is the megs one you can buy in Halfords. born slippy concentrate is decent once diluted down correctly, and it's nice that you can just wipe it off after without the need to fully wash again.
always keep a tub of hot water with some...
its the nature of the wax, you could use rainforest rub, purple haze etc and still get a 99% identical finish as you are with orange crush
Ps I still have a pot of Glasur I want to sell
