I've done brand three times and bedford twice and now want to try somewhere else before the year is out. I'm thinking either castle combe, snetterton or goodwood.
What's that red thing in your rear quarter windows, are they harnessses? you can see it in pic 2
I would say keep the better tyres on the front. 2mm of tread can be easily done at Bedford and you dont want to be driving home on illegal tyres
It also means you can scrub a bit off to help bring them down to the same amount of thread like you have on the back.
Sounds good chip, even though I haven't replaced bushes etc. Everything did feel really tight when I was last inspecting them with a lever bar, maybe they were replaced by one of the previous owners or its had an easy life either way im happy with them.
Anyway back on topic, so I guess in a way...
The cars is a daily but I want to make the handling better for track work.
The way I look at it is if it not really needed then I would rather sell it and it would pay for another track day.
But on the other hand I want the car to handle as well as possible. And if it will still make a...
so if you have coilovers like the spax or ast's with the rear coilover type, would you think that a rear anti roll bar is going to benifit the car's handling still, or is it just a case of you could stiffin up the dampers by a few more clicks instead?
i guess another way of putting it is does a...
I really don't think it matters that much as long as its in by say 3cm.
I also have a couple bolts that can be used, ill send them for a £5 each pm if you want one.
Basically its a weight under the upper engine mount, its their to reduce vibrations i think, but it doesn't seem to make any difference when removed so i left it out.
Their the strongest wheel on the clio scence but they weight a tone! They are a very track oriented but do you want to pay £500 for a set of track wheels? I'd rather get some oz f1's and put the £300 your save to other stuff.
It's not 130 herts! I double checked it earlier for a 172 cup alternator set up it should be 183 herts give or take 9.
If you don't have a herts meter at your disposal then you could try tightened it abit more each time til it stops, it should only move a little bit up and down like silent...
Sorry was just going to correct that I ment herts not nm.
If theirs no pre tensioner in the system their usally quite tight so not a lot of movement when moving it with your fingers.
If you had water on it or if it was too tight can cause a speak.
You probably don't have it tight enough, I take if you have a cup alternator setup? These have a belt tension of around 180nm iirc which is quite tight tbf.
Another Q, when tightening up the bolts that go through the shocks to thr rear beam would it be best to tighten then up when their on the ground rather than in the air on a ramp/axel stands?
