Re: Ollie's Silver Cup - JMS RS2/428s/Wilwood/2118
Plan of action - 1 Gallon of Tescos finest 99Ron and a box of Matches TBH.... I really have no idea!
Yep hoses and RS2 are on so really looking forward to seeing whats what with teh RS2 providing its all sorted!
Re: Ollie's Silver Cup - JMS RS2/428s/Wilwood/2118
Looking good!
On another note, My Gearbox has arrived from Renault Yay, The boys are working on it this PM, fingers crossed ill be at CSS in my car allbeit it will look a total shed until i can put a week or so effort into her!
Just got to...
Dont bother respraying if the bodywork is in good shape, Any DECENT bodyshop will be able to match paintwork, apart from that do you realise how much a respray will cost....
As for Springs, on a 1.2 whatever is cheapest IMO they will all be much of a muchness, take a look -...
A Favor... I would have expected Monies to be involved the amount of time that must have taken, or at the very least a few free flying lessons / Trip out in the plane somewhere posh ;)
Dont throw to much money at modding a 1.2 as you will never make it back when you sell.
At most I would look at some colour coding, maybe a small drop on some springs and a set of alloys, keep it subtile and fresh looking and pocket the rest of the money you would have spent on pointless mods...
Wow, wouldt ever cross
My mind that something like that is repairable!
I can see it's worth the work to put right if you have the know how, and for what was paid for that vw I guess your could break it for much more money even if you couldn't be assed looking at rebuilding!
I did lol a bit at...
It sounds like a really interesting line of work, the build threads you could create on the more exotic stuff would be an epic read!
Although I can appreciate the time to document the work for other people's benefit is not high on the agenda ;)
Re: South East Convoy CSS
Change of plan, looks like Stunty and I will be going stright up the M40 rather than tracking back to South Mimms and then round M25
Fair enough, I like the M400 and would have been interested in seeing some photos, after all I thought everyone on here was 'into' cars and it would have been something to read / look at rather than the same old BMW / Clio photos.
I doubt ill be lucky enough to afford anything like a Noble...
Yes Sand Blasting will remove any rust.
Preparation is the key to a good finish so not wanting to spend loads of time yet achieving a decent finish do not really go hand in hand.
You could just zip over them with a wire brush, give them a coat of rust retarding undercoat and then paint them...
Think its quite a nice Idea anyway going forwards for all shows the club attendeds Trax etc, be even better if it could somehow be synced with a 'Garage feature' on the forum bit like pistonheads Garage
Re: Ollie's Silver Cup - JMS RS2/428s/Wilwood/2118
Looks really nice all back together.... Get the TB off and painted up ;) Mines already sprayed up in anthracite so I may have to re-do it Black when I get my car back.
