well connecting anything you would always connect the ground first also putting the supply to an amp can make it output at the speaker terminals which would be dc and really not good for speakers then i suppose the rest could be changed if you want

i'd fuse it at both ends tbh basically you need a fuse that won't operate when starting and a cable that is the right size for that fuse

you don't need any wire you just connect your sub to the terminals marked bridge (usually the + of the left channel and the - of the right channel iirc)
