I test drove a 206 GTi 180, and a 172FF on the same day. I only bought one car, and i know i bought the right one. The 180 was swift, but my 172 feels faster. Interior wise, the only thing the 180 has is the seats, for the rest, I preferred the clio.

Type R's are only group 17, only one group higher than a 172. Think he's selling with standard parts also.

Cool, I bought and took back a Black 172 to HTC in Derby, that had a very similar issue! From reading up on here i reckon it was the dephaser pully that controls the VVT, but they never worked it out, and after 4 weeks of them trying i demanded and got a refund! Avoid HTC at all costs. :mad:

Did it sound like a Diesel on tickover once warm ?? Also may I ask where you looked at it at, wasnt HTC in Derby was it ?

I calculate my average to be 330 miles per tank (£50, super) so thats just over 15p per mile, on that math, £10 would get me 66 miles. So i reckon yours is fueling just right!

Can you get a new key from ANY Renault Stealer and get them to post it to you, or does you car have to be there for it to be coded ?

Price was one factor for me, but also reviews on here of the HC are good. I have Brembo HC and EBC Green's. Brembo HCs can be got for £60, where as the Max are £120.

Whats a 172 - isnt it 194 g/km Co2 ? Up £50 a year to £260 a year, robbing swines and the roads are still s**t and full of pot holes.

172 FF, computer says its 35.1mpg (all short journeys) But when i work it out at the pump from the reciept im getting between 32-33mpg on average

Take it to your local Powerflow dealer, they'll be able to fabircate a new back box to go on your existing system. Powerflow come with a lifetime guarentee, but unfortunaltey for you, only for the original purchaser of the exhaust system. But if you did have any work done at Powerflow, obviously...

£50 for a battery.... Better off paying Renault an hours labour (£60 or so) and knowing for sure.

Just used Tesco Compare.... 25 Yr/Old. 5 Years Protected NCB, but 1 claim (pending, not my fault) On a LY Vee, valued at 22 grand..... Cheapest was £1100 with Privelege. I reckon with that claim settled, giving me 6 years NCB it'd be close to £900.
