Clio 172 help,

ok so just been to look at a clio sport and its fantastic, only problem is, the engine seems to sounds strange, now i dont know if it because im used to my 1.2 or what but has anyone got any vids of theres running?

the car comes with new mot and 12 warrenty anyway so im not worried about it .
going back with my dad later to put a deposit so any vids befor then would be great.

Did it sound like a Diesel on tickover once warm ??
Also may I ask where you looked at it at, wasnt HTC in Derby was it ?

My injectors click like crazy on idle. You want to make sure where its coming from, injectors are no problem but tappets or the inlet cam dephaser are!

no its deff not a clicking noise its more like a belt noise. the guy that was there "that apparently used to work for renault" said its normal because its a laguna angine.

Cool, I bought and took back a Black 172 to HTC in Derby, that had a very similar issue! From reading up on here i reckon it was the dephaser pully that controls the VVT, but they never worked it out, and after 4 weeks of them trying i demanded and got a refund! Avoid HTC at all costs.

Has it had the cambelt/auxbelt changed? If its a whining noise then its possible that one of the belts is overtentioned.

These used car warrenties aren't all they crack up to be usually btw.

oh its an AA on the run by the AA not the gararge so i not sure ill have a look over whats covered when i pic her up cant wait so excited.

think im gonna have a Stealth exhaust on her for my bday in may
