Ok the problem is even more random now, so I checked and changed fuses earlier and nothing, still dont work, half hour later, out to car, auto lights on, fire up engine, both lights work. Drive journey, two hours later, same again, both work fine. Get home and think this is very random, so...

Ok i've had a look at all my fuses are ok, i've noticed that the drivers side (which works) there is a very slight humming to it, maybe the gas burning or somat i dont know, but on the passenger side (which doesnt work) there is nothing, does this make it more likely to be one thing or another ?

I had a Corsa GSi back in the day, a good little car but doesnt compare anywhere near to a 172.

a 1*2 is a hot hatch, yes the FF has some of the luxurys that come in much bigger cars, but they dont interfere with what really defines a hot hatch, power to weight and also the ability to use the power (handling)

That would have been ok, had i not butchered one to death in trying to remove it, its still looks ok until you get close up! Looks like a bumper removal mission awaits me, great!

Clio according to Parkers, is 172 and weighs 1035Kg, which is 166 bhp/tonne. Think my owners manual says 1035 too iirc.

i had the same problem 1 day after i bought a 172! Took it back to the stealers, and they replaced hydraulic tappets and followers on the front cam, problem still occured. Needless to say after 4 weeks they hadnt fixed it so i got myself a refund and bought myself another 172 which works...

The good news is its under warranty! :rasp: But i would like my 172 back sometime before Xmas.....Its only on tick over when warm that its noisy.

Got a very noise idle on tickover when warm, only occurs on idle (800 rpm) its ok at anything over 1100 rpm, smooth when driven etc and doesnt miss or splutter. Garage seem to think its the cam followers worn away and need to replaced, anyone heard of this or had a similiar issue ? Badger

No its doesnt stall at all, doesnt miss, just sounds terrible!

172 (53 Plate) very noisy on idle (around 800-850rpm) when warm, almost sounds like a diesel, but once the rev's get above 1200rpm its ok, my feeling is oil pressure maybe. Anyone experienced anything similar or know the answer ? It sounds to be coming from the rockers/cams sort of area. All...

Mine reckons i am getting about 33mpg with combined driving so that sounds about right, just the mileage left in tank seems a bit high.....

How accurate do you guys reckon the computer is in regards to mileage remaining in the tank ? For example, my 172 reads 1/4 of a tank on the guage, but the computer claims to have 150 miles left ? Is that possible ? Dave

Where can i get one from for a 172, the standard one is a bit longer than i'd like, and on Ebay all thats listed are chrome ones, which wouldnt look like on a black car... Any ideas ? Dave
