It most certainly will...
My speedo was actually pretty accurate (proved on a rolling road), but I know people with 106s & Saxos that are quite a bit "generous" shall we say.
The 172 IS fast, but cars like the 106 GTi & Saxo VTS are not far behind...
When my mate got his 172 he wanted to race my old 106 GTi to see how they compared. We were both surprised when the 106 kept up! :o
In a straight line sprint, the Clio is only slightly faster off the mark, but as...
LOL
At last someone to champion the 106 GTi/Saxo VTS cause! ;)
Noboby believes how quick they are until its proven.
p.s. Teady - You already knew though... :D
Yeah, I am on my 2nd detector and they do work... but not for everything!
Will only pic up Gatsos and stuff like supermaket doos, roadworks, etrc...
Not the mobile units in the back of the Ford Galaxys which are quite popular in Lancs. Wont get SPECS either.
Basically, you need to be alert!
Cool
I am well up for a session at Cooper & West then! :D
Whos organising the event though!?
You (Brun) or Dan from PGAC???
Would be good to get a mag along again... Was in Revs last time I was at Cooper & West in my 106 GTi at a Pug 106 v Saxo event.
Was £10 per person last time we went to Cooper & West, so cheaper than RE, or at least cheaper than when we were there!
How much did RE charge per person?!
One good thing about RE was they let me run my car first, to see what it was running like. Then the let me run again (free of charge)...

Well, I am not that bothered about going back to RE at the moment, as it was only done recently, so I dont feel its worth it.
But, I suggested Cooper & West before, becuase they give you graphs for both power & torque, for both @ wheels and a calcultated @ fly, plus lots of other...
They were Michelin Pilot SX Sports mate...
Ok at first, but after a couple of thousand miles when the top layer of the tread went, they just seemed to get worse and worse in the wet.
I know... gutted!
The car (306 Rallye) came with a full set of new(ish) SO2s fitted when I bought it and I am very impressed with them, especially in the wet.
A couple of my friends use Goodyear Eagles and they rate them well, so Id be going for them next I think.
Only a couple of weeks before we went then...
Those results are gonna be good to compare then as they were done not too far apart and the conditions would have bee pretty similar, so there wont be much to vary the results.
Amazed at Paddys boggo 172 making so much power, but also amazed at...

When was this event done?!
Because I had my 306 Rallye on REs rollers in December and got 151bhp @ wheels, which I was pleased with, although a little surpirsed.
There was a group of different cars there on the day (similar thing) and I thought it was a little on the "generous" side...
