Dont forget there are all the PSC pugs too!
There will be all kinds of French cars going though, but I am still trying to work out how to get the 306, R5 and Clio there all at the same time?!
Just have to take the one...
The VTS and 106 GTi will run fine on normal 95 Octane stuff...
I used to put SUL or Optimax in for trackdays or RR days, etc, but for most of the time it ran on Esso unleaded.
I know...
This was just to prove that my speedo is pretty damn accurate at high speeds and remember I said that a 106 GTi will do 140mph, but it will be sat on the rev limiter!!!
A VTS is geared shorter though and will not.
Got to Elvington near York... thats not far away.
Ive been 3 times now! :D
Use either Bookatrack or Easytrack or similar.
As for brakes -
I did an airfield day there a few months ago in my mates mk1 172 and I found that the brakes did "just" about last, but they would fade and...
How is that pic wrong???
Look at the speedo and look at the rev counter...
It is doing bang on 6500rpm (in 5th) and you said according to your calcs that it "should" be doing 128.7mph. Well, is it just me or is the speedo needle pointing at just under the 130 mark and so about 128/129mph...
No, but Ive borrowed one...
Easy to setup and use, all instructions are provided with the unit and are available on the website too.
You dont have to accelerate to 100mph, you can set it to what you like, so 0-60, 0-100, even 0-10 if you really want.
This should be fun! :D
Of course the 172 will win, but it would be interesting to see by how much.
This has already been done, as Teady (from here) raced a guy at Crail with a boggo VTS and it was very close...
What was it revving at then???
Tom (if we ask nicely) should be able to do the calcs and tell us what a VTS "should" be revving at when doing 130mph. Then we can compare to what your mates car did.
My old 106 GTi used to do approx 6500rpm at approx 130mph (indicated) and heres the proof...
A mk1 or a new mk2???
My mate that had the silver mk1 and sold it for the Cup (to be turbod by Captain Slarty) has now decided hes getting a mk2 V6 as this turbo thing aint really happening...
Handy for him that his Dad owns our local dealer. ;)
At least I get to borrow and play in all...
Yeah...
I have an AutoCar test in front of me for the mk1 172 -
0-60 - 8.2secs
0-100 - 24.0secs
Speed - 127mph
So seems they have changed their minds?!
Are these for a 106 GTi or a Saxo VTS???
The ratios are different for the 2 cars, just wanna check you knew...
What "should" 130mph in 5th gear be revving at?!
But the Saxo is a LOT more common, the handling is different, there are bits of trim and stuff "missing" (get them on a 106) and of course the interior is nowhere near as nice as the 106...
I paid that bit extra and got a 106 when I was after one of these.
