I would say for that mileage and a dent in the roof that was a bit pricey. Also only 10k of another Cambelt change. As for the oil most the time it's a leak from a bolt on the rocker, however could be the actual rocker cover needs reselling which is a Cambelt off job.
Would avoid that one and...
Took my old fiat coupe for an mot and the tester said there was a slight blow in the exhaust but he would let it off it was so small. Mile down the road, went over a speed bump and half the exhaust fell off!
The interior isn't the prettiest but I found the seats very supportive, having said that I have got aftermarket seats now.
I have some eibach prolines which improve the handling without losing the ride quality.
If your looking to improve the handling refresh the front ball joints, track rod...
Tank was thinking about 8:45 ish, or is that too early?
tomcat, that sounds good although as I remember there is nowhere to park at garage. I am up for meeting but probably be there till near 9:30
Right guys I will be coming down the M3 to this so though it might be an idea to arrange a meeting point. So was thinking if anyone wanted to meet at the layby on the A284,just off junction 5, at 9:00.
Anyone want to do this?
Main problem is I have applied decals to the bullets. And while the area isn't over the decals, it would make rubbing the lacquer off and adding colour pretty impossible. Could I either rub the area down with 2000-3000 grit a little then spray another coat of lacquer?
i do also have some...
I have been spraying my bullets and all was going well. However I put a second coat of lacquer on them and have notices some of the lacquer had dried cloudy.
Any idea why it's done this? And what can I do about it?
Cheers
Going by the mark on the front bumper I believe I saw this car today. If so it had a bloke driving it not a lady, plus the aux belt was pretty noisy. Anyone know where this is located?
Yeah there is a thread in the south central section. I will try and put up some meeting points for people traveling down the M3 then one nearer beaulieu shortly.
I would get the dephaser done as they start to go around that mileage and the last thing you want is to spend £475 for the dephaser to go a few months later, as you need will need the belts changing again to fix it!
Looks like you have done a good job mate. And as for the bullets, don't see the fuss as the whole car is made to look like a 2.0 anyway. Only time I hate cars like this is when the owners lie to their mates that it's a real one, which I'm sure you don't.
Just to add my old silver 172 had...
I think it sounds like a fair deal and like chip said you know the belts have been done right. For example end of last year a members flame red 172 which was really mint but needed belts sold for £2800.
If paying a garage to do it I'd guess 350-400 labour, then fluids etc on top. Plus if you taking the engine out probably best to fit a new clutch if it hasn't had one.
I would say with all the above 600-650 at a guess without engine.
