It has had new shocks and springs about 10 months ago so should be ok. And the polybushes were fitted by a local mechanic but have been welded etc.
Would take it to Fred but I don't fancy the 150 mile drive with its driving so bad. Guess I'll get the geo setup and take it from there.
Just...
Right guys
I know this has been cover a lot recently but really need help on what my car is doing specifically.
Firstly after a week or so of picking my car up the steering felt a bit light and was picking up any groove in the road. this then got worse leading to the steering pulling on bumpy...
Depends how far you want to take it. Firstly I would buy the cleaning stuff, no point polishing a car that hasn't been cleaned thoroughly. So a washing mitt, 2 buckets with grit guards, snow foam and lance, wheel brushes, wheel cleaner, drying towels and clay. That's really just the basic stuff...
The exhaust is easy enough. Maybe one tip is use silicone such loctie for exhausts instead of exacts paste. Also get another person to help you with the cat, one under the car one holding the bolts in the engine bay.
Most 172 I've seen get around 164 and as said 168 if a good one. but like chip said no dig at you just annoying that company's are happy to produce figures like this to make money.
I would say that was well off the actual power. At Surrey RR which is well known some clios with cams and itb only just saw 200 bhp. There was a ph1 slightly modded that got 168 iirc and that was a very good result.
Think this will be a difficult one as people will be coming up the m3. M4 and m40. I will meet on the m4 as above but maybe we should set up a meeting point for each motorway then all meet on the m25 after the M40 turning. What do people think?
Yeah but what the new price doesn't show you is the extra PayPal fees and delivery chargers. I'm sure mine was about £190 ish all in. If you intend to sell it on again you normally get what you paid for the box back so won't matter which version you get.
I got mine off george for free in the CSS raffle! Which was very generous for him to do for charity so think he deserves every bit trade he gets for us guys.
As above i used to drive slowly for the last bit of my journey. Also not sure if it was rubbish but a few people told me that leaving your car to stand at idle wasnt the best way as the engine temp wont drop much due to no airflow so when it turns off a minute later the oil is still hot.
I am after a spray can and maybe a touch up pot for my mondial blue cup. however not a clue where to get it apart from halfords or ebay. Anyone got any good places either online or in the Berkshire are to get some.
Cheers guys. I have cleared the codes so hope they dont come back, just thought I check though.
As for the map I just checked and it's got a different ecu software to my first 172 even though they are not ph2's. So if anyone has got the rst file starting with a 7 to match my 7300 and the map...
Yeah Just pulls off. I wrapped my old one and thought it looked ok. not as good as the real thing but only cost me £1.50 for wrap to do front and rear badges
Right I have an RS tuner which I brought new and used on my old 172. now I have plugged it in the cup it has given some fault codes shown in the screen shot below. As far as I know the codes are old ones as there are no lights and the car runs fine. however can anyway shed light on what they...
