a few days down the line and I dont want to add up what I have/going to buy!!
everytime I get a list sorted I see someting else meantion that I have missed!
just glad my brother is going halfs with me
as advised above dont rush into it. I did that with my first 172 and regret it big time. Maybe give them a call and ask the questions but honestly I think there is better out there for that price.
Thanks for the quick reply guys. What kit would you suggest from the link below for a good starter pack.
or shall I buy the DA and them make my own kit?

Firstly sorry if this has been asked.
I am looking to buy a DA polisher and a paint gauge. What do people think of the DAS-6 pro and a Paint detective PD8?
any views on these or better alternavies would be greatly appreciated, also any links to buy them :)
How much should i pay for a secondhand one? 100-150?
Im not going to use anything to aggressive on my car, but then if I did get a DA would probably use it on my bro M3 and MPS so might be worth getting one.
This thread might be of help

How much would a carbon canister be new/secondhand?
Sounds the same as mine I think does it at idle but only after 10-15 seconds. Also don't think it's a plug as you can only really hear it when say in the car.
I had the same problem with my old 172, need a new engine as to fix the one in there wasnt worth it. however I decided it wasnt worthing spending that much on the car when they are so cheap to buy a good example now.
Hope this is the right place to ask... I am considering buying a DA polisher but after a bit of research am wondering if in need a paint thinkness gauge before I consider touching my car with one?
if so where is the best place to get a fairly cheap one from?
Have you thought of the worst case scenario here? you buy the coilovers on finance and don’t declare them on insurance.
2 days later you crash and kill someone. Then spend several years in prison as you had no insurance, at which point you cant pay your finance.
once you serve your time you...
The pro kit is a good buy :approve:
however as for that exhaust do some searches on her about toyosport as I was thinking of buying a 172 version and got told that they are not great quality and a bad fit. I would just keep looking for one in the sale section, or try BTM's new one
Maybe try the inlets, although not sure if they fit, exhaust de cat ect and use the rs tuner to put the map suitable for standard cams. upgrading the cams on a 172 here would cost between 1000-1200 as you need a new cambelt etc. then a few hundread for a map.
so in your case that is likely to...
I might be corrected on this but I dont think the RS tuner has a preset map for aftermarket cams. I know he can take a reading of your car once plugged in and then modify the map but I am pretty sure people get it live mapped on rollers over here.
Really need to read my manual, didnt know you could do this? also only got shown by my mate last night that if you press the reset button when the oil ok appear at first it shows the oil level.
as with any car look for the service history, and also if the belts have been changed recently as that will cost around £300. Also at that mileage (correct me if I am wrong) but dephasers start going, so check if this was done with the belts. If not listen to the engine to see if it has a tappy...
