Yup, alarm. It is both 12v but they alternate in direction. If you specify one as 0v then it's +ve one way and -ve the other.

I just need to know if it's exactly B+ or if it's regulated?
I need to know if anyone knows the peak voltage of the supply to the locks on the central locking circuit.
I dont have a peak hold. So my multimeter just flashes +10 and -10v (locking and unlocking uses +ve and -ve). I'm guessing it's just on a relay and kick out whatever battery v is. Can...
I know, i'd do it myself and just take it them for the pressing, but I have no tools with me, so I was stuck, no local garages here either.
Expect a call in 2 weeks time or so about a cambelt ;).
I'm down at oxford right now and my drivers side rear bearing is shagged. My only free day is tomorrow.
In kidlington there is a renault dealership, who i will ask tomorrow if they can replace it.
How much do I expect to get shafted for this?
Anyone know of any good local garages in...
Not the usual question ;).
Anyone know much about the working of these?
I mean i know they're a mini yellow iso connector.
However what system does it run on? Is it just a series of switches (my suspicion is it isn't), which it just joins or breaks to send a signal.
Or is it I-Bus?
Or...
Sounds like a wierd request, but i need pics of the dash as a whole and pics with emphasis on the tweeter location with relation to the A pillar.
I need to see just how far forward the tweeter wholes are of the bottom of the a pillar.
Anyone care to take pics for me, who's away from the...
The rattle will be from distortion.
As you have increased settings using +ve bass adjustments you have induced clip, which has inturn produced distortion which is rattling the speaker to death. If you want more bass you need new speakers and ideally need them amped, or alternativly turn it down...
It is due to a poor earth onto the HU which ultimatly causes his fault.
The HU has too high a resistance to earh, so uses the RCA shield (essentially an earth for the rca's) as it's earth, which is why the resistor inside which is to stop this happening blows, as such the amplifier is then...
Basically the fix is make the RCA earth = gnd. It can be done even without removing the case of the HU. Spin a bare wire around all the RCA's then connect to earth. Simple. That's identical to what the fix is on TA which i believe wallop posted about some time ago.
Technically it's not a great...
Ok i have had a new set of brake shoes put on. I noticed a bit of noise, but after only driving for about an hour i have put lowering springs on. They have bedded nicely into the rubber surrounds and sit squarely.
However i have since noticed a noise coming from the rear left hand side of the...
Close!
Hot tub ftw?
Joking apart. Does anyone have a stripped interior and fancy giving me some rough dimensions? Just measure back of B pillar to boot lid in middle of car, then across from edge of door card then roughly the middle of the roof top to bottom. It doesn't have to be accurate...
Ok really random one for you guys, but does anyone know the volume of the clio without anything in the back, no plastics just bare metal. From the back of the B pillars right to the boot? I assume it'll be about 500L.
Might sound stupid but do you park up on slopes at all, as this may indicate low oil.
When on my drive at home it says low oil even though on the flat it's over half.
Ok does anyone KNOW, thats know, not i think or not 100% sure....
If lowering springs from a MK2 non RS's 1.2 16v/1.4 etc..... will fit a 1.2 8v???
MK2 PH2 1.2 8v.
I'm sure someone has tried it.....
(i know the rears will)
Stourbridge is a crap postcode.
It's not as bad as some others mind...
However my mate across the way in bridgnorth pays pennies to insure his astra. I mean like £100 a year.
What phase 1?
I assume it's a 1.2 mk2 ph 1?
I have a mk2 ph1 1.2 and you can just change the blades, turn so the blade is 90' to the arm then push the blade down the arm and it should pop off the clip. At which point wiggle the blade and it will come free off the 'hook'.
Ok, i need to know the largest size box that will fit into the back on the clio through the hatch, with the rear seats removed.
So can someone measure for me:
1. Middle of b pillar (adjustable seatbelt thing) parralel to the most narrow part of the boot (closest the front)
2. The most narrow...
Do you have a multimeter?
If so pop it across the terminals onto the amp, when the HU is on.
You should get 12v from gnd to B+(12v) and 12v from gnd to remote.
If you don't get these something is wrong in wiring. If you get 12v at B+ to gnd but no gnd to remote then it's Hu. If you get remote to...
Or oversized box. Or bad coupling, or tuning way under Fs. Many more too :P.

Yup, it's an expensive game. However if your mids are installed properly, and you can seal the doors properly. (needs fibreglass moulds on the clio due to the pocket in the door card), then it's defintatly worth while. Gains to be had on the midbass was definaty worth the ~£90 i had paid for my...
