lol first pay of your project thread and youre selling it!! people have no heart to finish projects anymore! :(
im a fan of the wheels and stance though dude, works really well!
itll either be the alarm wiring,
or something completely aftermarket that someone has had installed!
try and follow the wires and see if it gets you anywhere! lol
Gaz coilies and pure motorsport topmounts. coilies were second hand though!
i gave it a wobble before and didnt feel any play but ill give it another go some time!
and what do you mean tension in it when moving up and down?!
so finally driving my ph1 172 on the road to iron out the kinks!!
and my most pressing issue is a very loud banging coming from the near side front suspension!
first i thought it was the ph1 airbox knocking around as it feels like something loose banging against something! but ive since fixed...
carefully!
theres no proper way to remove them i dont think!
i used a cloth over a flat screwdriver and managed to get it off without damaging the bonnet!
So the 172 cups use different wishbones to add some caster?!
well thats my new thing learned today! might look into getting some cup wishbones if i ever need to change! lol
friend of mine had -1.75 on his, and no abs.
straight line braking suffered massively carppy road surfaces! (he was driving like a kn0b though!)
im personally going for -1.5 on the front of mine when i get round to having it done!!
-1.5 seems to be the norm for fast road set ups, i had it on mine and really liked it!
i believe the sports come with -1.5 camber as standard so you dont really need to play around with the rear unless you want even more!
Re: Emmisions light on, car feels a bit slower and occasional faint burning smelll ??
it may well do if its just on its way out! if it completely dies itll have the above symptoms!
also it depends on what lambda on the 182 as there is 2! one pre-cat and one post-cat!
when you say the...
what do the lockers look like!?
my 172 came with the same problem!
mine were like this
i just twatted a socket onto them and undo! took about an hour to get them all off!!
iirc you need one person reaching down from abouve the car, and one coming up from the bottom.
then its just a case of a lot of bad words, extensions and patience! lol
good luck and thank the stars you dont have a ph1! as theyre even harder!
youve killed your squib! that unit does all the electics to your steering wheel, youre shorting wires out when turning hence why the horn is going off!!
seeing as its already borken, id pull as much as i can out electrical tape over whats left to keep it out the the way. but youll need a new...
ive done this in my ph1, i just traced all the unused wires back to the plug to the dash loom and pulled them out!
i removed
Rear speakers
Rear heated Screen
Rear Lock
Rear wiper
Door Sensors
Handbrake light
Boot light
and basically just left the fuel pump and two rear rights!
mine did the same as above!! rear shoes collapsed causing the drum to seize!!
try putting it in reverse and being violent with the clutch a few times to see if its just bonded a little,
failing that its a lot of hammers and crowbars to get the rear drum off the car!
overall, im not a fan! wheels are far to in-your-face, 16v badge looks a bit chav, and the black tints just make it look like a van!
only get 15"s when you change the wheels and try and go for something a lot more subtle than aftermarket ones!!
good luck!
the stop and handbrake light is likely to be a "brake fluid low" warning light, the sloshing about when throwing it into bends its probs the cause. have a look at the reseviour and maybe top it up if need be.
the engine management light is probs a warning that youre getting incorrect readings...
law is 1.6mm across the central 3/4's of the tyres
tyres on the same axle (i.e front left & front right, OR, Rear left & rear right) MUST match.
police could easily give you greif for it and insurance would use it as leverage in event of an accident!! and itll fail an MOT.
always play by the...
if youre looking for uprated engine mounts,
look up vibratechnics, they do the range of solid engine mounts for these cars!
i think you can order them from K-tec racing!
car looks great! good luck with it!
