I would like to have the centre console trim and door grab handles in my 182 painted, but the rubberised finish on them is a pain. Is there the exact same trim pieces on a lower 3 door model with a hard finish, does anyone know?
Mick, if I drive the car to you, does the car have to display the problem whilst I am there (it is intermittent), or does the network infrastructure test store past problems also? My life would be so much easier if I lived near a specialist..
I couldn't get to the bolts on the earth strap (even with the airbox off) but gave it a good wiggle and the car worked fine for a couple of days. Now it's back to the starting problem.
A local garage thinks it's the crankshaft sensor - would this cause the solid red light?
Thanks - can I reach that without a ramp?
Also, does anyone know of a trader in South Wales with a clip so that the problem can be identified?
Just in case anyone has really good problem solving skills - this happens much more often when the car is parked facing down a slope than facing up!
Mick,
Sorry to drag up an old thread but it describes perfectly the problem with mine (04 182). What was an intermittent problem is now happening everyday. The red light stays on, and then it won't start.
I've checked the UCH fuse in the passenger dash fuse box, and there is no corrosion on...
Daniel,
Cheers for the reply, and for the discount tip, I've found the 25% code. If Fred (and you) go for Lemforder then that's good enough for me. Just a bearing to source now.
I have an 04 182 Non-cup with 35K on the clock. It has the typical creaking top mounts on full lock, a front wheel bearing drone (not sure which side), a "wobble" in the steering above 60 (the car tracks straight, but the steering wheel constantly moves left/right around 1cm), and a few clunks...
Yes the Alcantara in the RS Clios is genuine, but lots of people use non-genuine when covering parts. The official UK importer for Alcantara can be found at http://www.ukhide.co.uk or on eBay as seller ukhide.
They sell by the metre length (1.4m width) at around £77 per metre. From the...
Mine's rusted on the tailgate under the number plate. Instead of using the correct holes to mount the number plate, the supplying dealer decided drill a couple more and use self tapping screws. Muppet.
Just a quick question for anyone that has bought a new RS grille from Renault recently. What colour is it? My grille is a blue/grey but can't remember if it was this way originally or if it has faded over the years from black.
This: Leather Prep. You need to remove the wheel, use an abrasive pad and the prep to remove the melted leather coat from the wheel. Then sand the wheel lightly and dye the leather a dark grey. It is a pig of a job, but I now have a perfect steering wheel that has the same leather texture but a...
Sounds good. I look forward to seeing it on a later update on the thread at DW. Have you ever used the VHT paint on a standard exhaust and/or cat, think it would be up to it? I want to replace my Prospeed with a standard exhaust, but would rather it didn't turn brown again within a couple of...
Don't pay any attention to them. I have paid more attention to that thread than any other in my years of hanging out on boards like this (Subaru, Porsche, Mitsubishi and more). I have more fun in the 182 we bought my wife new in 04 than any other but have struggled with what to do with it now...
If it was a replacement from Renault fitted 3 months ago then it would be in 2 pieces anyway (even though the originals were in 1 piece). If you are happy for me to arrange a courier to pick it up and if it is a Renault supplied cat back (£501 is very cheap for a Renault exhaust) on the basis...
Ha, cool. Seems on the Clio III it was the other way around, there is a "smokers pack", if you don't spec it then it is not given. Probably doesn't exist for the Clio II but I live in hope...
Can't find anything with the search, did Renault ever offer a non-smoker pack for the Clio II (that is, a replacement for the ashtray/cigarette lighter with something useful for non-smokers)?
Cheers for any answers!
SORTED! Cheers Fred and all who replied. On removing undertay today a second bolt fell out, that which bolted the cast brace (don't know it's correct name, anyone?) to the front of the block. Replaced and nipped, all now good.
Well the bolt was replaced, and the noise is substantially reduced, but it is still there.
What would be improved by this bolt, but not removed altogether - are there other mounting bolts on the alternator to check?? It's driving me nuts as I am (mostly) limiting to 3K revs in case it is...
Great, cheers Fred. I'll order a new one in the morning (I have the bolt but not the nut) and have a chat to he who changed my belts less than a thousand miles ago.
