I've had a few handling/steering issues with the car recently, and will check out the front shocks in the week - now, if they're gone, how easy is it to replace them? I tried to find a guide on here but no luck so far?
I changed the rears easy as anything, but understand with the fronts the...
Cheers Rob, very kind of you! :)
I found a picture where someone changed the colour of their clocks so did the test to light them all up, and can't see the steering light on (although it's very blurry and from a weird angle), so maybe it doesn't light up!?
Hmm, interesting...I'll admit I've never seen mine illuminate, but the manual says 'goes off with engine' next to the picture of the symbol...suggests it illuminates on ignition then goes off when started up like all the other lights?
I'd appreciate anyone on here just having a quick check...
Thanks for that Rob. Did it this morning and the power steering light isn't working...what's the procedure on replacing them or whatever? Or is there likely to be some other reason for it not coming on?
I noticed earlier, as the sun caught it, that there's a symbol of a steering wheel on the rev counter dial - turns out it's the power steering warning light. I checked, and it doesn't illuminate on the ignition like all the others, and clearly never has done if I've never noticed it! The manual...
First time I've had a go at any 'proper' photography for a while! Trying to get back into it again. Nikon D3100 with standard kit lens, just tweaked the exposure etc via the Photoshop RAW editor - no filters or anything. :)

Well, if they didn't balance the wheel properly when the tyre was replaced then it could be that - or, after you hit the boulder it could well have buckled the wheel slightly. Two of mine are dinged very slightly on the inside lip, and this makes the wheel vibrate. The tyre guy managed to...
Wow, that's a bad luck story right there! I'm hoping mines not as serious - it's got massive amounts of paperwork to back up every single thing done to it, although I'm sure a bodge certainly wouldn't be documented... :dapprove:
As said, I'm planning on getting to to Fred as the MOTs due and...
Yep - I did as much research as I could before buying, picked a car with full service history, recent belt changes, receipts, looked tidy blah blah. and there are still niggles with it. Discovered a rear shock had gone a few weeks down the road so replaced those, exhaust has now started blowing...
Agreed - I now know better! Seems the print out is king - 'computer says yes/no' mentality these days?
Thanks for the advice gally - track rods are what it's now been narrowed down to and will be first port of call etc. :) if (hopefully 'when'!) a solution has been found I'll update for future...
Well, I took it to PowerStation as it still pulled after F1 had a go and asked them to sort out - they said they had. Even when I said it still pulled they said the machine said everything was straight and all the suspension looked fine. As they missed the knackered rear shock I cut my losses...
Well, it's not a violent pull, it's more of a 'sudden drift' - it's not like sometimes snatched the wheel, but it's pretty obvious and requires having the wheel turned. Agreed, mine isn't camber either, it does it on most road surfaces - sometimes I have to hold the wheel more to the right than...
Not personally, no. I asked PowerStation to give the suspension etc. a good checking over when they did the tracking, as I mentioned the pulling at the time, but they said it was all fine. They did miss the knackered rear shock though, so I'm not sure how much faith I have in them. I'm aware of...
Seems a lot of people are having steering issues! My problem seems to have been partly covered before, but I don't get any knocking/pulling over bumps etc. Only when driving along a flat, straight road, I find I have to hold the wheel slightly to the right (sometimes as far as if it was pointing...
I'd be pretty gutted to be back to a poverty-spec coloured name. You're practically invisible now, surely!?
I've been part of clubs before where trying to get the reps to do anything was imposible - they wanted to be a rep purely for the 'status' (if you can believe that?) so it's nice to be...
This is true...I don't really know the details of your rep/ban situation but I'm sure we all appreciate you not throwing a strop and still organising things! I'm looking forward to my first club event to be fair (unless it rains - rain makes me miserable).
Ha! Nice bit of event organisation there Will :rasp:
Fair enough though, I can only imagine it'd be like drawing blood from a stone sometimes...I'll make sure to mention I'm a CS member then. ;)
Cheers guys...didn't know if there was any special procedure if you're attending with a club, but I'll give them a ring and get a couple of tickets ordered ASAP then. :)
Yep, that's fine! Sorry to sound stupid but how would buying the tickets work? Do I have to buy my ticket for me and the car off you, and the plus ones buy off the site/on the day, or...?
Never been to a show with a club before - be keen to come along to this! Few Q's though: how much is it come along as part of CS? Is that per car or person? (so if for example a mate wanted to tag along with me or something). Cheers. :)
They do seem to have good sales/deals on Pay As You Go/SIM-Free handsets. Pay monthly deals don't seem that competitive - often the deals are better going direct. Especially if you're already on a network and threaten to leave - O2 practically halved my monthly bill to stay.
I managed to download the Messenger Beta just now, went back onto the page and the links down...interesting.
Looks really good though, all the features I've been wanting and then some! Any ideas on required computer specs?
