Which part of yours was the leak coming from? Seems I'm in a similar situation... I had a weird whistling noise under acceleration, and the clamp from the cat to the rest of the system (roughly under where the gear stick would be) was all rusted and the system was sagging there...they renewed...

Tried placing it where the little square cut-out is at the bottom of the middle of the windscreen? I don't have any signal issues, but then I put mine pretty close to that spot in the screen?

Mine are weird and don't work...you flick the stalk from the 'off' position to the 'on (automatic)' position, but all they do is act like normal intermittent wipers, going off at a set interval - doesn't make any difference if it's raining or not, and the rotating dial part of the stalk does...
