Are they the same as clio 172 callipers?? its just my local scrapyard will probs charge twice as much for clio 172 callipers on the simple logic that the clio 172 is a rare car (to be found in a scrap yard). if i can whip them off a megane they will be much cheaper!! also the same question...

i spy a cliosport sticker in the rear driver side window ;) perhaps it has some history on here!

i wouldnt bother using a vernier, since the second you get in/put something in the boot/fill up with petrol, you'll throw it all out! just count the number of threads to the bottom of the coilover to do the side to side adjustment, and as for front to back, just have it a little bit nose down...

plain and simple! can you bolt a mk1 steering rack, to a mk2 subframe? or do i need to use a mk2 rack??

very strange place to put a sub, it needs a sealed or properly ported enclosure to work properly! otherwise it will just bounce around and make not a very nice noise! have a look at some pics from my old clio, same colour, same shape and i did quite a few bits to that!!

how big is your arch gap?! :O and if your springs are compressed against the maximum travel of the shock, rather than the weight of the car, then your handling will be all over the shop! and i cant imagine it being very good for the shocks!

the link you've posted are coilovers made by "Raceland". They're coilovers, but very cheap ones. Dont expect them to improve your handling. Standard suspension will be better. Your car is nice, i want your wheels!! :P

being a mk1 owner i have no idea what half of the lights on your dash are, immobilizer light is going out so it doesnt look like thats the culprit, i think the best bet now would be get the multimeter out, test the battery with the engine both off, and on. then test there is a constant +12v...

are you sure its a flat battery? not a fubared starter motor? what happens if you turn the fans, beams, stereo, etc, does it struggle for power when the cars not running??

is your battery light on?

first thought would be lambda, second thought would be MAP sensor, then perhaps ecu trouble, i wouldnt have thought it would be anything mechanical, and if a sensor is giving a dodgy reading, it may not quite be out enough to register as a faul!
