yup, the ph1 will be stripped to a bare shell, cage and seat frames welded in, and full painted interior and engine bay, 172 wishbones, breaks and anti roll bar, coilovers the lot!!
and will still cost a mere £130pa to tax :D
and adam you already have buckets dont you?
this one has rust issues, and it would be cost effective to save it, only for it to start rusting again in a year! Mk2 shells dont really have the same rust issues so i thought it would be a good start for building a car from scratch!!
i do seem to scrap every clio i own though, only one has...
so my valver is coming off the road on the 22nd July, being raided of the engine and interior, and being scrapped. engine will be stored/rebuilt while im on my first year of uni. Then will be dropped into a mk2 ph1 nonsport with a 172 running gear!
So this is a montage of all my favourite...
personally i wouldnt use price comparison sites with your real details, not only will they give you a hiked up price,
but theyll save your details and give you the same hiked up price when you go to the companies direct!!
just note, adding yourself as a named driver doesnt make it that much...
why not get the Trophy recaro seats??
theyll go pretty well seeing as theyre an OEM seat!!
also, i went for bright blue buckets in my last clio, i strongly regretted it!
why is that dare i ask?? if i tape over the entire exposed section of the bottom end leaving just a small bit of oil in each cylinder would it not be ok??
i ask because i plan to get the head skimmed, all the valves re-seated and it may take me a while to do as ill be away from home for long...
personally id always use hubcentrics, which kinda limits you to 15mm or bigger, in which case it would definatley be longer bolts!!
i tried 9mm spacers, and the bolt did not go through far enough to call safe!!
looks good! makes me miss my ph1 non-sport, but ill be getting another one soon ;)
will be selling pollybushed wishbones in a month if it interest you,
saves you having to have the old bushes pressed out and the new ones welded in!!
my worry was more the lack of water in the car!! if i spray some wd40 down the plugs every now and then and rotate the engine, you think this will stop the rings from seizing/rusting?
Ok so i dont plan on driving my valver for a year, after which, i wish to reshell it into a mk2
effectivley, the only thing i really wish to keep from the car.....is the engine and box!!
however, removing the engine and box will dump most of the fluid!!
my question is would it be ok to store...
under the scuttle on the passenger side there should be a large gromit where the loom comes through into the car!!
may have to cut a hole in it, then push wires through!!
i wish i had a pound for every time i read about this problem!! ive had it on two clios out of the 3 ive owned!! lol
its exactly the cause of your problem, the N/S/R light cluster plug is corroded and therefore arcing out some of the connections a live to go back down the brake light wire...
removing the rear view mirror to fit an interior one would make it a complete ball ache!!
yes theyre an MOT fail if the wipers foul the sunstrip, but in all my years of scum strips, ive no once seen a car fail an MOT because of one!
can just the element be left in alone to heat the car??
i removed all the heaters when stripping mine out, and even after sealing all the holes up, it is still very cold!!
due to lack of a trailer i have to drive it too and from places and would love it to be a touch warmer!! :(
i just looked squeak, and tbh i dont think what has been said is really that bad!
few people spouting their opinions and one or two hurtful comments, but thats whats going to happen when you post pictures of mods that are a bit "out there"
plus this cliche of cliosport hating everything but...
Re: Will a crash in a works vehicle with business insurance effect my personal insura
how can people not comprehend this??
Have you had ANY claims in the last 3 years regaurdless of fault.......
its a yes/no question,
you can just think well, im not sure if that comes under "ANY CLAIMS"
so...
get the raceland coilovers imo, thats what i did in my 1.2 and theyre great for the money!!
also for the record, before coilovers, i lowered my car 60mm on standard shocks and they were fine!
also if you dont want to fit them yourself, my services are for sale ;)
they can be bolted directly to the floor using high tensile bolts,
however this will result in a very low, and very far forward seating position.
alternatively you can get a strip of 5mm steel, mount it to the floor in the same method as far back as possible, then mount you seat to that...
yes you were dude, sorry about my mate driving. i specifically said, DONT LEAVE BIG GAPS THEN BOOT IT!!
so what does he do :(
and yes oiam, it great, 10x's better than excel!!
coolant is only the cost of a bottle of antifreeze surely?? £7?
to do a flush id just take the rad out and blast water though!! then flush the rad through on its own,
as said stats are not very expensive, but it may well be a waterpump failer,
however theyre normally about £20 for a pattern...
